Hi

For this, let's assume that .tel will not be a total flop.

What type of keywords will be most valuable for this extension? Will it be geographical keywords, like newyork.tel, losangeles.tel, etc, or what else?

Are you able to use your Dotster login or did you get a separate telhosting login from Dotster?

I never got any email from Dotster.

I checked in my account and saw the link, so I tried logging in.

No luck.

I must say, for being the most expensive registrar, Dotster's service hasn't been that fast or knowledgeable.

You could give us a try. See sig.

LOL, this will be fun :
"NOTE: Since the TEL central registry is offline, we cannot check if this domain is actually available or not." (dynadot)
... and more $$$ goes into the registars bag :)

VERY unprofessional to present a business in that manner. Every time I log in, I want to puke.

It's the main reason I don't go to domaining conferences. For God's sake, the Playboy mansion?

C'mon, guys, you want more women in this field? The behavior of some guys in this field drives some good women away. It certainly has driven me away from attending domain conferences. A shame, too, because I could learn a lot at them.

Yep. I feel exactly the same way. I get that they're playing to the balconies -- domaining is a sausagefest, with a few exceptions like ourselves -- but still.

Frankly, I don't think most domainers really care about or spend any time whatsoever worrying about gender diversity in the industry. Proof of point: just yesterday this topic came up in Bido's chat function, spurred by a video for Domaining.com that featured a woman with enormous boobs wearing a tight shirt that said Domaining.com on it (can't find the link anymore). And I made exactly the same point I made up above, because I'm a little tired of it.

I was practically shouted down by the cacophony of "You can just turn your computer off" and "I like laydeez" and "I'd rather not be surrounded by a bunch of dudes in Speedos instead." I mean I was shut down almost immediately and rather loudly, even though my point was never that I wanted to see a bunch of guys instead, just that it's cheap and not professional.

I think the attitudes are endemic and calcified, and that's sort of sad. Because beyond my personal opinions, let's face it, domaining doesn't have exactly the best reputation as an industry. And the way to clean it up isn't to make the industry look even LESS professional.

Anyway. Sorry for our semi-thread hijack. :)

ripley.

For anyone needing a time check its' 12:23hrs in the UK at the mo So roughly 3hours 7 min to go.

Got a few preorders in, a few Geos (that were left) a couple top of niche category killers and 1 or 2 LLL.tels. But at different registers as some were taken at others.

Be interesting to see what if any I get.

Best of Luck to everyone.

You sound excited MicroGuy - have you warmed to .tel a little? :hearts:

I think he was secretly having us on all along so he could play it down and score some great names for himself, hehe :notme:

Yes. The 96% price reduction has added a little warmth. There is a popular four-letter dictionary word still available for pre-order. At $10 the risk/reward ratio is much more appealing. (:talk:)

This word is probably worth mid $xx in most any extension. IMO. :gn:

Where do you go to register them for $10? $300 is insane, but at $10 I could add a couple to my basket.

$300 is only insane when you buy an insane word, but very reasonable when you buy a great generic or geo.

Not $10.00... but close at TelCartel.

Hope you all get what you want, especially our biggest fan, Micro.

Cheers,

don't lose your shirts guys, i wish you the best.
i'm not into .tel but hate when people troll .tv forum, .mobi or wherever, so I won't

i will say one thing, see my siggy.
you note he led you to the gates, and hasn't been seen for a while, now the action is happening, the spending, and has bought none himself.
he built you up, now he's gone

think about it. good luck

btw, can you reg LL.tel? as Ho.tel would be a :gn:

Amen to that. Too bad I've already repped you to high heaven.

Any time you paint an establishment over with male chauvinistic gel, you serve to exclude an enormous amount of intellectual, social, and/or spiritual talent.

not bad at all, thats why i told you all do not lose hope, cause what you paid for cant come back to you in refund but the wait for 3 yrs has more chances of it to multiply ur premium price x 1 or x 10 x 100 :D good luck again

Interestingly, Dynadot™ is not flagging pre-orders within its own system to prevent duplicate orders. I just checked and the system is permitting me to pre-order the same domain already on order. (:red:)

In the event that two or more people pre-order the same domain in-house, I wonder if they have a system in place to award the domain to the first person to pre-order. (:talk:)

if that is the case i don't think so dynadot might even get the domain since it would still remain confused who to award it too :D

i hope Domain monster does it good this time i had a success rate of 30/30 domain with it last time
