Hi

For this, let's assume that .tel will not be a total flop.

What type of keywords will be most valuable for this extension? Will it be geographical keywords, like newyork.tel, losangeles.tel, etc, or what else?

Hello Guyz and Girlz one again!
I think I wasn't clear the last time...
I just wanted to know if it's possible to undo a GA pre-order for .TELs because I did some mistakes while pre-ordering in bulk. (@DomainMonster).
If yes how do I proceed?
Thanks.

I did ask DM support to remove some names from my list last week because I over-ordered and they said its against policy but will ask general manager. No response as of today so I may have to cancel account. Go to DM support and ask.

Trying out pre-order from our friends to the north... webnames.ca

They are one of the few who are allowing me to pre-order for GA

that and Domainmonster

Getting funky results with domainMonster when pre-ordering. It will show that a name is taken when in-fact the domain is available according to telnic and dynadot. (maybe somebody has already requsted??)

Yes, that is the way it is supposed to be. Once you pre-reg a name at DM, no one else is allowed to go for the same name. You will have to try it at a different registrar..... My understanding is that every registrar is using this format for registration. ie. if you pre-reg at Dynadot, no one else will be allowed to pre-reg that name at Dynadot...etc. etc.

Basically first come first served at each registrar...

My only .tel currently active is at Name.com - it has been working fine for several days now, no problem, and it has started working more or less instantly after I activated it.

Enjoy,

These names have been displayed on webnames.ca for ages. I dont think they are that great (which is why they havent gone yet) and they dont get that much exact keyword traffic either. Muight be ok as GA names, but wouldnt pay $300+ for any of them, but if I had to it would probably be bistros.tel IMHO

Message from Dotster:

Hello Jennifer,

My name is Corey McAfee and I'm the Product Marketing Manager for our domain products. I must apologize for the confusion over your two (great!) .tel domains. Please rest assured that you will have access to the full functionality of your .tel domain on March 24th after 7AM PST. You will access Telhosting (the place where you can add/remove/edit contact details and adjust access permissions) via Dotster's Account Management.

There is absolutely no charge for accessing the Telhosting functionality as this is included with your registration fee. You understood correctly; this fundamentally different way of storing and sharing contact information requires no traditional web hosting packages.

I am working with my Support management team regarding the knowledge gaps regarding this service and your experience with us. Also, look for an email communication in the next week iterating login details.

Best Regards, Corey

This is all I really wanted to know; I appreciate good communication, and I just wanted to pass this info on to other Dotster registrants.

Great news Ms Domainer, I have a fw of mine at dotster too. Thanks for getting them to wake up a little. Im not sure why they dont realise the power and value of customer service, that's so annoying to me too!

In location record you have to enter map location and it displays the map image but how to display satellite image by default rather than map? any idea?

Thanks for sharing! I'm working on a new article titled "Truth, Lies, and .TEL" which will be published in April. Talk about snake oil salesmen. Geesh!

Does anyone have pointers to the ICANN proceedings regarding the approval of .tel ? When .xxx gets turned down and a white page TLD gets approved, something's going on.

.Tel Customization

.Tel Customization

There will be many opportunities in the future to customize your .Tel front page.

For instance, Telnic has added unique customization to the following .Tel network:

Implementing unique branding to your .Tel will no doubt increase opportunities for future market initiatives. (e.g. Branded Directory Listings)

I was also checking out http://biz411.mobi/ which offers a "mobile to mobile" directory for cellphone users.

In my opinion, .mobi is still a pretty good application, but what makes .Tel TLD superior is its ability to ping both landline users, cell phone users and internet users which represent over 80% of most business markets.

What's your thoughts?
