Hi

For this, let's assume that .tel will not be a total flop.

What type of keywords will be most valuable for this extension? Will it be geographical keywords, like newyork.tel, losangeles.tel, etc, or what else?

oh .. you're being way to modest :red:

months and months of post after post proclaiming the highly bandable .tel surely had some influence on the newer domainer and curious community as a whole.

really, take a bow! many of these regs are directly because of you.

I'm sure that there have been a few disgruntled and former "dot Mobey" investors ... who have made the switchover to the potential of the short and highly brandable .TEL extension (versus the long, awkward, and unprofessional "dot Mobey" whose Registry has repeatedly broken its promises, failed to communicate insofar as the uprising of questions and very legitimate concerns, failed to market the extension to the masses, and sadly only exists purely to line its pockets - repeatedly - with pure GREED money), IMHO. :guilty:

Whether I had any influence in their redistribution of investment in asset classes is debatable ... because, as I mentioned above, I've stated repeatedly and from the very early beginning ... and very PUBLICLY over and over again here in these posts, that I'm not personally investing in any highly brandable .TEL's at this time. :gl: :imho:

"dot Mobey" R.I.P. :guilty:

Dot Tel and the General Public.

How long do you guys think (if ever...) it will take for the General Public to here something like: ''Nice talking to you, keep in touch! what's your dot tel again?'' and not finding it unusual! ?

How long did it take the "General Public" to discover cell phones? I can't believe they caught on; I mean, I literally live in a public phone box!

Seriously though, I think you've misunderstood .tel - it's not just meant to be used as a contact hub akin to a business card, but for all sorts of other services too.. and that's the real beauty of it.

yea, thats why FOX NEWS advertises FoxNews.mobi permanently on the left hand of the screen.

and why Sean Hannity has advertised their .mobi out loud for the last week: http://dotwhat.info/mobiAD.wmv

but anyway, tread carefully "telsters"... now is the time to wait until General Registration for most regs.. $300ea and 3 years of commitment is ridiculous at this point... you will do much better waiting until general registration and pay $20ea or whatever it costs. if there is any aftermarket at all, there will be a short bubble period right after the landrush. the mission would be to find the exceptional names that fell under the cracks at the $20ea price and sell many soon after to hedge your bets as much as you can.

Will probably sell a couple of mine soon after landrush, would be keen to know who will hold the first premium .tel auction and when.

Whoa there!!!

Bad case of deja vu. Thought I was in the official .mobi hype thread from a couple of years back.

All I can say is sincerly, good luck. :tri:

Phase111..Out of your 132 posts, 100 are related to dot tel. They paying you for all the hype you are creating?? If not, they should be.

haha, no they arent paying me, but if they see this, then a small donation wouldnt hurt, lol. Truth is, since learning the concept of .tel. I havent given time to other domains much... I guess what I like about it is it's something very useable and breaks away from the traditional website domain model..although this can be more risky a proposition, the potential is huge- if I have inadvertently helped pave the way for something that will inevitably happen anyway (in my view), that's great, but I think domainers are smart enough to make up their own minds about .tel and where it will go, so I would be surprised if any of us telsters are responsible for registrations on any significant scale. It is interesting to note though how many people have changed their opinions regarding the value of a .tel. I know I was as sceptical as many of the naysayers in the beginning, until I researched it more fully and understood it's importance to the evolution of the internet as it expands. Sorry if my posts are becoming as frequent or repetitive as Sir Jeff's of old...at the risk of hogging the thread, Im happy to hide in the shadows for a while and let others have their say :lala:

Don't worry "plaggypig", I do understand the "dot TEL", I know all the possibilities and all the possible future tweaking... that may be added by Telnic etc. I was just asking the question out of curiosity. Just to have you guy's opinion, That's all.

I don't have any .tel's yet, but I have 6 pre-ordered for GA.

One of them is actually a really really nice geo..I'm tempted to landrush it because I know it's just a matter of time before someone else does...but it's just so hard to part with that $300... :|

Mjnels has been spamming this less-than-newsworthy FoxNews "dot Mobey" thing here (I wish he would post this stuff elsewhere ... ) for well in to one year now ... but at the end of the day, it is still not a developed stand-alone "dot Mobey" site, and Fox™ has invested sum total $0.00 in its actual development of this trademarked domain name, IMHO. :red: :guilty:
It seems yet another desperate attempt to keep the struggling "dot Mobey" hype machine active, I agree.
