Hi

For this, let's assume that .tel will not be a total flop.

What type of keywords will be most valuable for this extension? Will it be geographical keywords, like newyork.tel, losangeles.tel, etc, or what else?

There is nobody to discuss .tel about 4 days , why?

Why bother?

It's all been said, both pro and con.

If new developments occur, I'm sure they'll appear here.

Now back to my previously scheduled self-imposed exile from this thread.

Why did you do that?

If an extension thread gets no posts for 7 days, the extension can officially be pronounced dead.

Please, just let it go in peace this time.

What's funny is that .tel is apparantly the only extension this applies to.

If we really have run out of things to say, what does that mean for .tel? There is still an endless amount of discussion left in just about every other extension.

Exactly! Without provision of any development environment, only limited things can be said.

LOL, I'm sure Telnic and all of us Telsters are watching the calendar to know when our domains are "officially" pronounced dead by the activity at NamePros.

Telsucksterism at it's finest!

RIP .tel 2009-2009.
New extensions are dying faster than ever... in particular when they are stillborn :ghost:
Good luck to the believers.

I thought this was interesting.

"I feel we are sometimes scattered and somewhat lost in the vast online world of online communication, we have programs for this and websites for that, but we all have one thing in common: our gaming tags are as individual as we are. When I started popping in and out of gaming servers wearing my Sickboy.tel tag, people I never even talked to in the game, or people I just got a passing chat with, contacted me through my .tel. These people connected with me because of the need to know, the need to explore and build on their own online gaming communities. We are all about connection and communication, and wearing my .tel in-game has made my personal gaming community grow a massive amount in a short space of time.

Sickboy.tel has united people with the same interests and many more good online communities have grown because of it. I get people coming on and contacting through my .tel, people who never knew I had one, but it’s sometimes just a simple type, click and hope game, which is the simplicity with .tel names. When I go into an online gaming server, I don't type my website up on screen in the hope someone is reading while gaming, I just game and people find me and My Command Centre!"

Quote from Sickboy

A perfect use for a .tel

Honestly i really love the concept of .tel its perfect and simple but i have always wondered why .tel? why telephone?

isnt vcard or icard or something is better suited for this kind of service?

telephones are outdated and mobilephones are in?

I think it's best to relate .tel to 'telecommunications' - so to me this TLD is future-proof and very useful.

Just to remind you a mobile phone is a 'telephone' and a 'telecommunications' device.

Looking at the activity in this thread, it seems clear the .TEL debate has been settled.

There is basically nothing going on at all with this extension.
