For this, let's assume that .tel will not be a total flop.

What type of keywords will be most valuable for this extension? Will it be geographical keywords, like newyork.tel, losangeles.tel, etc, or what else?

why is domainmonster letting me "register" domains that the whois says were taken yesterday?? I thought the pre-reg was over...

There was a break at one point in communications that made some registrars report that no names at all were available, as we had a quiet period prior to GA. That's why some might be showing as available when they were not yesterday.

This happened today...I checked to see if a name was available with domainmonster...it said it was and seeing as how it was well past 11am edt pre-orders should have been over and it should have said not available but it did not. I doubt this is telnics fault but more likely domainmonster. Oh well, at least they don't charge your card unless they are successful.

.Tel - What did you guys manage to register ???

I know that at the moment, some registrars are working ok - others are not going so well. Also, with the whois info not being updated, its not easy to work out if your registrations were successful or not.

I've placed few orders with Dynadot but these are still "processing" so I don't know yet if I've successfully registered them or no.

Anyone here care to share any .tels that they have been able to successfully register ??

That will be because we have a significant number of concurrent connections running which is slowing communications backwards and forwards down a bit. Glad to hear the conjestion is easing up and the WHOIS information is updating again.

Look at the whois on dynadot or domaintools..that is what happened to me (though it never said it was unavailable). Said it was available for preorder, so i ordered it then looked at domaintools and was regged by dynadot with yesterdays date.

I have 141 pre-orders on Domainmonster. Only about ten have a green tick next to them and those have a timer next to them and they say payment pending. I hope they are not doing them in 10 lot batches because I will miss out if they are. They have been pending for at least 10 minutes.

As my experienced with DM on Landrush, the green tick shown that you already got that one. But most of one that still in yellow tick also no email, server, and auto renew icon would gone soon.
