This thread was created to bring a local new story to light, which can be viewed below:

JACKSON, Ohio (AP) — An Ohio school district decided Tuesday night to keep a portrait of Jesus hanging in the school where it's been 65 years, denying a federal lawsuit's claim the portrait's display unconstitutionally promotes religion in a public school.

The Jackson City Schools board offered a constitutional justification of its own in voting 4-0 to keep the portrait up in its middle school, saying it must protect students' free speech rights. The vote drew cheers and applause from the dozens of people gathered in the elementary school gymnasium.

I posted his here @ NP to see what ppl had to say on the issue. As it turns out, this sparked many debates. I've considered closing this thread but after multiple suggestions, I decided to keep it open. Praise God. He believes there is a little bit of Jesus in all of us.
Interesting perspective 🕴️Faith discussions can definitely lead to many different interpretations.

Soon humans will say "in AI we trust" the current unknown invented God will be replaced with one known.
Yes there is a creator but I have no idea who he is.

You can't talk about God, without defining what's a human.

is a human, just matter (carbon and water) like a piece of shit or a tree or a rock, or matter+soul(invisible, metaphysical) ?

if you choose the first option: just matter -> then nothing really matters, there's no morality, no God, but it doesn't answer the questions: how we exist, who created us and everything else, there's a purpose but what is it, difference between dead vs alive, difference between good vs evil, how come humans are different than animals, how come all humans believe in morality, good, justice, equality, love, art, liberty...

The only logical answer that answers all these questions: is that there's a SOUL. There's METAPHYSICS.

Then you start from there, what's the most logical religion that doesn't contradict the human nature and still answers all the questions.

Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism... all have inherent contradictions, and all these contradictions lead at the end to relativity and fail to answer a basic question of difference between good vs evil. For example, Christian countries have done some of the worst massacres in history, but "Jesus died for our sins" so it's ok. Or, the trinity where Jesus the human became God, and people still pray to him ? How ? Where's the proof ?

The only true logical religion is Islam: there's one God, a Creator that is different than creations. A God that listens and sees and answers our prayers. A scripture that never changed and wasn't lost.

if you say there's no afterlife, it leads to relativity again because there's no purpose, and it's the same as saying there's no God.
if you say there's no prophets, it leads to relativity again because there's no purpose, and it's the same as saying there's no God.
if you say there's God or Jesus in all of us, that's pantheism, it leads to relativity again because there's no purpose, and it's the same as saying there's no God.

God bless.

Attending church in person is much better than watching online from work or home. When you’re at home, it’s so easy to get distracted; you might start doing chores, working, snacking, or checking your phone, all while trying to follow the service. But when you’re physically present in church, you can give your full attention and truly focus on worship and fellowship. Remember, the Bible encourages us not to forsake the gathering of believers (Hebrews 10:25) and reminds us that iron sharpens iron (Proverbs 27:17). There’s something special about coming together in person that you just can’t get online.

I have stopped going to our Orthodox church long time ago, after I realized that Masonic Satanists have infiltrated even there as priests, to gather data on humans that confess easy all their bad deeds!

Honouring the Sabbath: A Pattern from Creation

The call to keep the Sabbath holy comes straight from God’s own example in creation. The Fourth Commandment, found in Exodus 20:8–11, reads: 8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:

10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:

11 For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

This commandment is rooted in the creation story. After creating the world in six days, God rested on the seventh, setting a pattern for us to follow:

  • Genesis 2:2–3:
“By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested... And God blessed the seventh day and made it holy.”
  • Deuteronomy 5:12–14:
“Observe the Sabbath day by keeping it holy, as the Lord your God has commanded you. Six days you shall labour... but the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God.”
  • Exodus 31:16–17:
The Sabbath is a lasting sign between God and His people:
“...The Israelites are to observe the Sabbath... It is a sign between me and the Israelites forever, for in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day he rested and was refreshed.”
A Quick Look at the Days of Creation:

  1. Light and darkness were separated.
  2. The sky was formed to divide the waters.
  3. Dry land, seas, and plant life appeared.
  4. God set the sun, moon, and stars to mark time and seasons.
  5. Sea creatures and birds were created.
  6. God made land animals and humans in His image.
  7. God finished His work and rested, blessing this day as holy.
This rhythm of work and rest forms the foundation for our seven-day week and the tradition of the Sabbath.

One thing I admire about the Muslim faith is how, wherever they go, they seek out a mosque to worship even when travelling. As Christians, we sometimes focus on finding a familiar denomination or even hesitate to worship if we’re far from home. But the beauty of our faith is that we can gather and worship anywhere, as long as it’s a Bible-believing church. God welcomes us wherever we are. Thx

Shalom!

Not all Orthodox churches are the same. If you’re not feeling at home where you currently worship, try looking for another church or praying for God’s guidance about where to go. Many Bible-believing churches are out there. Remember brother, it’s okay to make a change; don’t let one experience shape your entire perspective.

Matthew 19

19 And it came to pass, that when Jesus had finished these sayings, he departed from Galilee, and came into the coasts of Judaea beyond Jordan;

2 And great multitudes followed him; and he healed them there.

3 The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause?

4 And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,

5 And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?

6 Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

7 They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away?

8 He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so.

9 And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.

10 His disciples say unto him, If the case of the man be so with his wife, it is not good to marry.

11 But he said unto them, All men cannot receive this saying, save they to whom it is given.

12 For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother's womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it.

13 Then were there brought unto him little children, that he should put his hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them.

14 But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.

15 And he laid his hands on them, and departed thence.

16 And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?

17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

18 He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,

19 Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

20 The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?

21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.

22 But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.

23 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.

24 And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

25 When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved?

26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

27 Then answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed thee; what shall we have therefore?

28 And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

29 And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.

30 But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first.
