E-learning.tv took the #18 spot for CCTLD on the DN Journal weekly sales report. $4,445

The domain looks to be purchased by a company in Poland, the non hyphenated version regged since 2002 by a registrant in South Korea.

Opinions on paying this much for a hyphenated version.

I believe domainers work with a narrow set rules among each others, and many times they seem to forget that the end users have different ideas on their minds, and that is reflected in the prices of the domains. There are many domains and extensions that a lot of domainers say it doesn't worth much, but then we see end users paying good money for it, because that's the name they want and/or need.

Most end users don't care about hyphens, if they want the name they get it, most end users if they can't get a dot com, they get another TLD just to get the name they want.

Another thing i see is that end users find no value in most LLLL or CCCC names, they look at it as non sense domains, they prefer good keywords, but for domainers those LLLL or CCCC worth a lot of money.

I totally agree...

lol sums it up for me hearing this. congrats to seller, seller got a lucky break if you ask me.

there is some truth for keyword-keyword for seo puposes but thats about it...what happens when your out prospecting a new business and you mention hi my name is ........... and i am the founder of e-learning.tv vs hi, i am the founder of learning.tv....the business will take you more seriously hearing learning.tv then e-learning.tv imo... i didnt look up the yearly fee on learning.tv(will be a bad example by me saying this if its 10k a year lol) but the truth be told this applies to any reg fee .tv names...

i dont own any of these types of names however i would probably do an experiment and grab one for learning process and seo if time permits but really in no hurry to do this....

congrats to seller!

In German hyphenates are the norm. There the non-hyphenated name loses the traffic.

You can see a lot of hyphens in French and other Eurolangs. Not sure about polish though.

Probably this name will lose a considerable traffic to the non-hyphenated version.

If the enduser actually MARKETS the product and is going to seriously use the name, doubtful that he or she will lose ANY traffic.

Curious, what is elearning.tv presenting to the public right now?

How many people owning any domain, actually go around promoting it verbally. They would at least have business cards or some promotional give-away with the name on it. It is no different marketing Domains than any other product in that regard.

Hi barefoot. Been hearing good things about you lol. Congrats!

For Seo purposes and sites making up, maybe its good with that regard.

For .com plays I would do this more so. But for .tv I would not.

And this is me that was chasing after everything when I came to .tv. E keyword.tv, I keyword.tv, discover country.tv, keyword tv.tv , keyword channel.tv, keyword channels.tv was mainly my hype at the time. Then people were grabbing names like jazzon.tv at high prices.

So for me, the learning experience was truly amazing. A lot of dumb mistakes I made

From my dumb grabbing, chasing things last year this resembles what I went through and vibe by me on this.

Yes, developer and Seo, content writters would love to do this.

Selling a product, showcasing a geo name, etc would hate this.

That example I had given was only when example. I can rattle off more examples in why its bad news if your going after sales. Even business cards print media would look bad imo.

The past few months I am seeing some nice keywords .tv in marketplace that should have been grabbed up but were not. With the economy right now, why invest in this format unless your hedging against yourself. People are scrambling for cash, values and etc.

Again I am not sure if I am 100 percent right on all of this nor and I am newer then most .tv people here.

I would maybe grab 1 or 2 names in this format and learn from it and do some testing down the road.

Either way seller was lucky I am still concluding and buyer good luck.

it's interesting to see you guys talking about my sale,
personally I think e-learning.tv could be worth more than 3,500 euro but I needed cash to do something so I didn't negotiate with the buyer for many times.

by the way,
I am in my military service period now so I can't surf the internet very often,
too bad. :(

Hi fleaking

Been wondering where you been

Congrats! Glad to see you sold name and someone on this board!

Nothing wrong in a huge roi like this one.

Don't let the should would have thoughts crossed the mind, takes a toll lol. I try not to think this when I sell or buy. Did I sell to cheaply? Did I pay to much? Not an easy task to handle lol.

Please don't take my remarks personally. I don't mean to offend you with my thoughts. Great return!
