It seems .PRO is slowly coming out of the cage with cheaper reg prices than they were a year ago and major registrars like netsol taking notice of the extension and promoting it. B-)

Here are some that I picked up in last couple of days:

Alexandria.pro

Anchorage.pro

Arlington.pro

Belfast.pro

Birmingham.pro

Budapest.pro

Durham.pro

Fairfax.pro

Italian.pro

Lisbon.pro

Fire away with your regs after the relaunch on September 8th, 2008.

I'm talking about GD-label.
Does GD-label matter for Bob selling .co.uk or .fr? :bah:

The important thing is that people could register .pro domains at Godaddy! :imho:

Am I right to assume that the auction is going to consist solely of three-letter Pros?

Looks like there are some N.pro, L.pro, LN.pro, LL.pro and others.

You can certify yourself. Just your unis diploma number or driving lic. number.

Exactly !!! And like they say it's a SELF certification. If they were to start harassing people they would lose what little business they have ... and they can't afford to let that happen. In other words, all aboard.

Then they need to update their website if they want to have any credibility whatsoever. IMO

"Step 2: The self-certified professional data provided by the registrant is randomly verified against an appropriate licensing or accreditation database."

For what is being offered in the auction I like these best as fitting well with the ext (the single characters I threw in because they are cool).
1.pro, 2.pro, x.pro, b.pro, ny.pro, 3d.pro, art.pro, fat.pro, ice.pro
What are your favs?

And do not forget that a barely picture, even if the artist is still alive, costs from four figures bucks!

It requires all those licensing authority and so on. I do not have that :) I entered some dummy texts.

The registry has made two things very clear. One … you do not have to be a doctor or a lawyer or an engineer to qualify. GENERIC professionals are very welcomed. It's up to you to determine your profession. Are you a landscaper, a butcher, a baker a candlestick maker. Think of the doctors and lawyers as being the "Branded" Professionals and almost everyone else as the Generic professionals. I could go on all day listing examples but limber up your brain and it'll come to you.

Next ... the process is Self-Certified. They have it printed in bold, underlined and italicized. Apparently they want to make sure that you don't overlook that key piece of information.

Lastly, adding the words "Generic" and "Self Certify" to their requirements allowed them to open the door to almost anyone while at the same time not giving up their Professional exclusivity. They are screaming at potential buyers that it is OK for you to sign up, just be professional about it.

Merry Christmas !!!

Will my professional credentials be subject to review?
Yes, RegistryPro will monitor new and renewed .PRO domains to ensure compliance with all terms and conditions of our agreements. You may be required to provide additional information to the registry in order to activate or retain your domain.

Basically this means if you provide some "dummy texts", they can just come along and take the domain back away from you if they ever get the urge.

Just provide them with some more dummy texts and you're all set. That's how you roll with .PRO. :hehe:
