It seems .PRO is slowly coming out of the cage with cheaper reg prices than they were a year ago and major registrars like netsol taking notice of the extension and promoting it. B-)

Here are some that I picked up in last couple of days:

Alexandria.pro

Anchorage.pro

Arlington.pro

Belfast.pro

Birmingham.pro

Budapest.pro

Durham.pro

Fairfax.pro

Italian.pro

Lisbon.pro

Fire away with your regs after the relaunch on September 8th, 2008.

Andrew owns Maxi.pro.
Detail.pro, great for automobile detailing business. ;)
Yes, I also think so.
In google for detail - 1'110'000'000
and for details - 2'147'483'647
in yahoo - significantly more

and also subdomainable:
auto.details.pro
business.details.pro
technical.details.pro
graphic.details.pro
and etc.

I forgot to mention that Hajj.pro is also related to travel services/packages. Around 3 to 4 million Muslims make pilgrimage (largest in the world) to Saudi Arabia each year and price for those packages start from $5k / person. If not that then hajj guides, how-to and other hajj related reservations could also accompany the packages.

Its a nice little niche, IMO.

Just cold e-mailed about 50 sites. Some I informed I was entertaining offers and would sell when I received an offer higher than the ones I already have. Some I gave them a specific price. Hope to update you guys soon.

I bought Studio.pro today for $3,000, it might squeeze on the end of the DNJournal Global Contenders Top 20 list this week depending on how many sales go through.

Andrew,

Any reason why Studio.pro and not some of the other domains in that list?

Great regs IT, you seem to be going towards products with a retail mindset, nice.

I think I found the Venezuelan guy's domains someone mentioned a couple of pages back. He must have around 100 GEOs alone.

Retail, products and services. Thats the plan, I am not sure if it will work out or not. :-/

With that in mind, add:

Linens.pro to the mix as well.

Yes, there were 4 reasons why I picked Studio.pro. The first was goodness of fit. Here's the number of Google indexed pages benchmarked against Golf.pro.

"Studio Pro" - 3,370,000
"Golf Pro" - 1,570,000
"Pro Studio" - 924,000
"Pro Golf" - 1,230,000
"Professional Studio" - 591,000
"Professional Golf" - 813,000
"Studio Professional" - 709,000
"Golf Professional" - 760,000

Studio Total - 5,594,000
Golf Total - 4,373,000

It's unusual for a .pro to get anywhere near Golf.pro in terms of goodness of fit. Usually a keyword can match Golf.pro in one direction or in either pro or professional but to do it short and long and backwards and forwards is hard to find.

The keyword Studio is popular in URLs. "allinurl: Studio.com" comes up with 1,110,000 unique references on Google, versus 1,280,000 for Mobile, 3,190,000 for Travel, and 634,000 for Sex.

Popularity stems from flexibility, 95% of creative professionals work in a studio. It works for music, art, design, architecture, fashion, photography, computer software, film, and crafts.

Finally, the keyword and extension both end in "o" which makes it catchy. I don't have a top design related keyword in .pro so from a future development perspective, it also made sense.

There are more heavy weight keywords on the list but my .pro buying strategy focuses on fit, flexibility, popularity, and aesthetics over overture and PPC.

I like them a lot, both are very marketable.

I have just regged Chartered.pro which I think will also be a good niche for .pro

Z you are calculating your stats wrong, you need quote marks round the management and pro. "Management Pro" has 192,000 uniques. Saving.pro is nice, I dropped it but wish I had kept it with hindsight.
