It seems .PRO is slowly coming out of the cage with cheaper reg prices than they were a year ago and major registrars like netsol taking notice of the extension and promoting it. B-)

Here are some that I picked up in last couple of days:

Alexandria.pro

Anchorage.pro

Arlington.pro

Belfast.pro

Birmingham.pro

Budapest.pro

Durham.pro

Fairfax.pro

Italian.pro

Lisbon.pro

Fire away with your regs after the relaunch on September 8th, 2008.

Z you are calculating your stats wrong, you need quote marks round the management and pro. "Management Pro" has 192,000 uniques. Saving.pro is nice, I dropped it but wish I had kept it with hindsight.
I think SAVING.PRO is great name!! this time?? everyone saving!!

Why do you need a template? How did you sell the other .PROs you had? :hehe:

At present moment, as far as I know, .pro transfer between registrars are impossible
But if it will be possible - transfers to "hostway" will be very difficult:)

Its possible with hostway but I would recommend you stay away... for now. If you need to register domain registrars like encirca, networks solutions and domainpeople seems to be the only choices for now. :|

I would recommend using your own words and modify it to your own professional taste before emailing. You wouldn't want it to look like some type of spam email, IMO.

I would also recommend putting a bit in there about .pro (New extension, for professional use only, ect.), I've had my best responses from it being infomational as well.

self-certify?

From encirca.com:

The .Pro domain is a restricted domain name, available to professionals who self-certify that they meet the eligibility requirements of their profession. There are no restrictions on the types of names a business or professional may register: including trademarks, industry keywords, search engine terms, company names, or marketing slogans. There is no limit to how many dot-pro domain names an individual or company can register.

Is there any real verification process for people who want to register .pro domains? Does "self-certify" really mean anything? :p

There is so much confusion when regular users look at something like that... thast why restrictions that are left and self certify needs to go and focus needs to shift on whether or not the domainers are being used for professional, business use, etc.

The registry needs to push the extension to other registrars like godaddy, moniker (these guys don't even take your domains when you try to list it in auction or something). It also needs to advertise the .pro to businesses and business magazines as well as the end users who maybe looking for website/domains but their name is taken already. .PRO is there to rescue such businesses and their identity.

That can only happen when registry wakes up and allows .PRO to compete with other extensions on a level field.

I don't have one as of yet, if I create one and find it successful, we will see it here.
:)

Basically, you want to introduce your self, along with what you are offering (the names). Then you want to tell something about the .pro extension because as soon as you mention the domain names, the .pro part will stick out. As Ben said, you want to let them know, give a link to the registry's website, perhaps.

Then you want to give them details about the importance of having unique, memorable, easy on the eyes domain name for business, its SEO importance and how it would help theirbusiness as well as their customers.

In the last paragraph you want to give them your contact information, options that are available to make the transaction successful and conclude with your full name, business name, telephone, email address, etc.

Pretty basic stuff but everybody should write it differently.

Good luck!
