I think I started the first BQB.com auction ever. I'm not sure but it looks like it's up and running.

The bulk listing software has been tested and is now available for download: http://www.bqb.com/auction_manager.php .

This will allow you to upload listings from your computer onto BQB by using any CSV compatible program, such as Microsoft Excel or OpenOffice.org. Make sure to save the document as .csv or .xls before attempting to upload.

If anyone has any questions on using the bulk software, please feel free to send me a pm or post here. I'll try and make the instructions a bit clearer on the download page.

Have a nice addition coming later today as well:

- AJAX bidding (no need to refresh to see updated bids on the auction page)

The bulk listing software is easy to use, done my quick set up. Just uploaded a few domains in a minute. There are no forms for "Registrar" and "Expiration Date" but it's faster than manual submission. Great job, Reece. :)

Thanks Hiroki! :)

I'm going to work at getting some better instructions on BQB about how the bulk lister works. If you create a column in excel with the expiration dates, you can then column map this to the Source Column "Description" in the BQB bulk lister and all expiration dates would be included. Alternatively, you could do the same thing with the Registrar column mapped to "Description". If you merge the excel expiration date and excel registrar columns, you would then have 1 column with both pieces of information which could be mapped as per above and would include both pieces of information in the domain description.

I haven't provided much of an update in a few days now -- we've been working on a few things. The reputation system on BQB has been changed to a positive/neutral/negative system (all previous ratings were converted with 1-2 = negative , 3 = neutral, 4-5 = positive). The single domain auction listing process has been cleaned up a bit and is now easier to follow. We're working on making the single auction listing steps "clickable" to make it easier to go back if a mistake or change needs to be made. I'm working on a user guide which will explain how to use all the features BQB offers (should be done next week) and lastly, giving BQB an SEO overhaul.

I'm going to put 10+ short domains at no reserve each day on BQB moving forward. Bidding starts at just $1 and will feature different short domains from day to day -- 5L.coms, 5N.coms, LLLL.coms, LLLL.nets, L-L-L.coms

Hi Reece,
I've just activated my account. Login. But I couldn't find any button to logout.

Hi mate,

I've included a picture of where logout is: http://img363.imageshack.us/my.php?image=bqblogoutwv7.jpg

You can also delete the cookies in Internet Explorer by going to Tools -> Internet Options -> Browsing History -> Delete and in Firefox by going to Tools -> Clear Private Data -> Clear Private Data now (make sure there's a checkmark beside the Cookies box)

Glad to hear it! More exposure from this should trickle down into more exposure for every seller on BQB.

The Catch-22 with new auction sites is that buyers don't want to join because there's nothing to buy and sellers don't want to join because there's nobody to sell to -- this will hopefully solve that problem by providing buyers a reason to come to BQB and sellers with the opportunity to reach out to more buyers.

Hello.
Usually how many days need in order to activate accounts?

Anyway i think it looks like a good website, especially for cheap sales.

I notice BQB only shows 5 sales in the past 30 days.

Hi mate,

I activated your account. It generally takes me 2-3 days to activate accounts.

Yeah, business has been quite bad lately and I'm sure is being affected largely by the U.S. economy which is home to about 3/4 of current members. Interestingly, Sedo appears to be having quite good sales results still on domains which I can only guess is both due to their larger buyer base and probably even more likely, their more diversified non-USA buyer base. BQB was going pretty strong until the real panic started to set in around June-July in the USA and hasn't recovered since. BQB still gets about 1500-2500 views per day (was 4000-6000 at peak), so traffic hasn't gone down that much, however sales just aren't happening to near the extent they were previously.

Well I look there sometimes and I see a lot of trash names, or decent names with a starting bid above what I'd consider a fair BIN. So I think that's why no one is buying. I thought it was a place for quality short domains but I don't see any.

If I were you, I would find a way to cancell the competition

http://www.bqb.com/domain-name-community/showthread.php?p=3#post3

I don't think that there has been a lot of effort put in by anyone. Less than 15 referals isn't a lot. If you gave the top 3 small prizes for trying, I think most people would still respect you. You should always have an exit clause.

This could free up some of your money to invest in a more productive way.

Great name yes, but does not work well for the BQB service since it encompasses alot more than just four letter domains.

I just wanted to apologize for not making a note regarding BQB downtime here. A thread in Domain Discussion was created recently regarding this matter -- everything is okay and BQB should be back up within 2-3 days.

BQB is being migrated to a new server. It's a bit more complicated than moving a normal website and is above my level of comfort and, apparently, the level of comfort of the person I had managing my server. Anyway, I have someone experienced with migrating the software powering BQB now working on getting it restored. Nothing will be lost when functionality is restored. I've been quite busy lately and this has unfortunately caused communication delays which have resulted in the longer than anticipated downtime. No auctions had bids on them at the time BQB was taken down, nor were any premium listings active -- it was decided that this would be a good time to make the move and make sure that as little was affected as possible. My email: reece(at)bqb.com is hosted both through BQB and additionally through DNS Made Easy (as a backup), hence all emails directed to me are being routed through DNS Made Easy to me and I am receiving them. If you'd like to discuss anything related to BQB or just get in contact with me outside Namepros, you're welcome to do so.
