I think I started the first BQB.com auction ever. I'm not sure but it looks like it's up and running.

The one thing I worry about Phil is people listing domains and forgetting about them -- or worse, selling them at other venues and forgetting to delete these listings, leading to far more incomplete sales.
Isn't there the same risk by having the option to repeat an auction hundreds of times?

In the process of having it hard coded to allow a maximum of 1 relist, so people will have to choose the appropriate amount of time at the beginning.

That doesn't sound encouraging to me. (To have to manually relist domains all the time.) I would get the bulk upload function before working that out as some bulk sellers could get burned badly in admin costs by having to manually relist large collections repeatedly.

I'm predominantly interested in making BQB largely a "domainer's marketplace", rather than attempting to compete with Sedo at the enduser level. Discouraging multiple relistings will hopefully encourage domainers to be more realistic in the prices they set. Putting ordinary double premiums for in example $XXXX asking prices does nothing to benefit BQB members and adds nothing but clutter to the system, reducing the exposure each domain will receive from each member.

I'm still looking into the bulk feature and how best to implement it... I really have no interest in seeing 10% of all listings being for $10000+ like on Sedo.

Just a suggestion, iam not sure if it would be any good or not but maybe you could make a "Verified Listing" option. What this would do would Verify that the domain on sale belonged to the seller. This could be done by matching names and address on file to the Whois of the domain.

Great idea Rick. SitePoint also introduced this system. Basically, as soon as you list the site, you'll have to upload a text file onto your domain and submit your URL.

Maybe something similar??

I am starting some promotional sales on BQB with slashed prices. I think is on all sellers interest to promote such a good market place... :tu:

That's a great suggestion - Thanks Rick + Girish! :)

I'll have to read up about this as I'm not exactly sure how this works or is coded.

Hello Reece,

I read you want more buyers: Normal.

My time as a buyer is limited and I don't want be spending time checking for names.
What I want is immediately see the "quality names" you have for sale.

I find too much "garbage" (sorry for the buyers) in the homepage, this STOP me to look further.

Also I think you should remove this collection of "Advertise Here" banners. This will not help you sell ads, at the inverse. This only gives a bad impression to potential buyers, they may not realize it's a serious market place you have here!

Hello Francois,

Thank you very much for your advice -- it's greatly appreciated coming from such a successful developer :)

I plan on purchasing considerable advertising within about 1 month. I hope this helps promote the seriousness of BQB.

I am following your advice and removing the "advertise here" ads. It will appear as empty white space.

If anyone has suggestions on how we can get more quality domains listed on the homepage, I'm listening. :)

Some features currently in development and beta testing which should be out over the next 1-2 weeks:

1 - Option to have "Verified Members Only" bid on your domains (if you haven't verified yet, it's free for Namepros members, so please send me a pm for more info)

2 - Unique Reputation count: Like on Namepros, it will be visible how many different people a buyer or seller has dealt with.

3 - Login time longer before logout if inactive (you can always click "Logout" to be logged out if you know you'll be away from your computer).

What is being looked into afterwards:

4 - Creation of RSS widgets out of current auctions

5 - Fixing glitch where store logos disappear upon making modifications to stores

6 - Limiting listing titles to 25 characters, implementation of a free subtitle line for additional info

7 - Emailing of "auction ending soon" reminders to bidders and domainers who are "watching" a particular item shortly before it ends (open to suggestions about when the best time would be to have these emails sent)

8 - Ability to enter multiple positive (or negative) feedback simultaneously -- eg. If you bought 5 purchases off the same seller, you could leave 1 feedback and it will count as +5 much like it would now if you left the same feedback 5 times, saving you time

A bit more distant down road:

9 - Mobile version of BQB compatible with Iphones and most smartphones

10 - Customer support forum for troubleshooting problems which arise and introducing yourself to other members.

11 - Bulk listing capability (with software in place to verify domains are owned by the party listing them)

12 - More store templates, listing designer implementation to customize individual listings similar to eBay.

I actually agree. I have been meaning to mention this for a while but forgot about it. I get what you're saying but as Blaze says I don't think that type of language is professional. It would be much better with just "No Bull" IMO.

I honestly like the slogan, but I understand the point.
Something like this might be more professional.

No Commissions. No Listing Fees. No Hassle.

Reece, can you move the 'Sponsors' module on the right hand side beneath the 'Members Area' module... Its forcing the login screen down below the fold as well as all of the members area links when you are logged in... very annoying considering the space is being taken up with nothing :)
