PalmIslandHarbor.com ( The palm islands in Dubai are being referred to as the 8th wonder of the world and all though we don't know for sure what the future holds, We believe Palm Island Harbor is a valuable name as the harbor is not only so important but is being said to be the largest man made harbor in the world.

Yeah, isn't the worlds largest man made harbour up the road in Jebel Ali port?

There are heaps of dubai names and its hard to tell, its all very speculative and I have yet to see much evidence of demand, but get an oil rich sheik who wants your name and you will be set.

Maybe even a prince, who knows?

I'm not really focusing on the heaps of Dubai names, I'm aiming at the palm islands that that are not really speculative since they are currently under construction and the main harbor to them, they are saying is going to easily be the largest in the world.

If i'm wrong let me know, but don't they have satellite pictures of the progress on the Palm Islands?

I'll look and update.

Yep they do: http://images.google.com/imgres?img...?q=palm+island+dubai&svnum=10&um=1&hl=en&sa=X

I'm not sure about the name as I have'nt read anything specifically about a harbor. However, the potential value will aso depend on if they use the english spelling "harbour" or the American spelling "harbor". Who knows but it looks like that is taken too.

Good luck

Which harbor? There are 3 seperate Palm Island resorts in the UAE. One in Jebel Ali, one in Jumeirah, and one in Deira. Jebel Ali is in fact the world's largest man-made harbor, but this has been the case long before the Palm Island resort.

Also a quick search for "Palm Island Harbor" returns only 2 results and they're actually in reference to Depalm Island Harbor in Aruba. It just doesn't seem like this term is being used at all in reference to the properties in the UAE. In fact, the actual term isn't "Palm Island", but rather "The Palm" I.e... The Palm Jebel Ali, The Palm Jumeirah, etc...

Also, something to consider. The Palms are privately developed by the Nakheel company, along with a lot of other landmarks in Dubai. While it may be perfectly fine to register generic Dubai related domains, when you register one that is related to a specific, privately owned resort, more than likely you'd be considered a squatter.

Hi gazzip,

Yes, we have both spellings as well as PalmIslandPort.com

Hi RonaldRegging,

There is still a lot of construction to be done with the project and my understanding is that the harbor will be built and may already be under construction, I have an open gov't security satellite photo that appears to be the beginning of the harbor and also already appears to be at it's capacity with ships/boats.

Of course no domainer likes for another domainer to reply with quote (more than likely you'd be considered a squatter) but any way, my reply would be that I do not consider this as squatting and don't believe most other domainers would consider it as such.

I've not been there but understand that it is open to anyone who wants to visit, work, vacation and purchase property there. After completion it will have many cinemas, shops and other events to attract millions of U.S visitors yearly.

If I ever have this (squatting) or similar to suggest to you or anyone else here in the forum, out of respect I will PM you and would appreciate the same.

I apologize if I offended you, but I was just stating a point that you need to consider, as well as other domainers who register similar type of names. Often times people don't consider the legal ramifications of their actions and then it can come back to hurt them immensely. Especially when dealing with a company that's spent 30 billion dollars on developing these various properties.

Pointing out possible TMs and legal problems is an essential part of the peer appraisal process.

You didn't offend me, just surprised that you cared so much about legal ramifications after reading your thread on trying to sell the name of a famous rapper who has spent his life making a name for his self ( TrickDaddy )

Thanks for caring though and have a great week.

********Here's what you wrote about TrickDaddy.us********

Trick Daddy is a famous rapper, has an OVT of about 300,000, he's had a few hit singles in the past couple of years and is releasing a new album in December.

I think this could make a great minisite, but I'm generally just looking for appraisals/offers. Thanks.

My point exactly. I've learned a lot about legal issues from others on this forum since I've been a member. Probably some of the most valuable (and free) information I've received about domaining. Did I always know this stuff? No. But now that I am aware of it myself, I try to help others avoid similar situations where they could potentially find themselves in serious trouble. I am very thankful for others who have educated me in this sense.

Best of luck in the future.

Dreamers, reg fee (my appraisal).

If they wanted the name, they would have it by now (company, port administration, prince....).

I only see speculators in this Dubai dot com craze. Where is the end user? No end user= no market.

Oh, so when you sold the name Trick Daddy you didn't know it was wrong. Nice try and I doubt your line about learning from others, being thankful and trying to teach others is fooling anyone here.

Try someone else next time please.

Your card got pulled, carry on soldier.

You've already proven you can search through my previous posts, so I don't feel I need to defend my intentions to you. My posting history speaks for itself.

Again, best of luck.

Also, for giggles, I did eventually sell TrickDaddy.us, somewhere between the $1-3 range, if he wants it, I'll send him a check...
