Seems the rumours of an ultra thin macbook with multitouch gestures were true. Just finished watching (albeit it via text updates) the Keynote. (Good version over here: http://www.macrumorslive.com/)

Good old UK...we get base models at ยฃ1200....eurgh, VAT....import tax....apple's own premium....how horrid.

MacBook still suits my needs better than one of these, would not say of course, but will still be seeking to save towards the macbook :) (Was secretly hoping for a price drop actually, can't see it happening as Air is being marketed as a third notebook category, which of course it is)

I like, but as Matthew said, the ยฃ1200 price is not nice, and besides a macbook would suit me better aswell, don't fancy paying the premium for smallness.

Got to get me one of those :)

Price is steep...but if it's all it's cracked up to be....gotta have it;)

only downside so far is the battery not being user-replaceable... not good for road warriors suddenly finding their MB Air batt conked out on the road.

Heres to those in very windy areas. Tie it down with a rock atleast or you may lose it with the first couple of gusts. All it takes is one strong sneeze and poof. I remember when the Wii came out and all of the youtube videos were of people throwing their wii remotes into the tv because they lost control playing. I can see the same thing happening with people losing their macbooks... Youtube here I come.

Besides all of that it does look pretty neat :).

Wow that is really neat. I wouldn't mind having one. The only problem with macs though is they are always out of my price range :(

Looks stunning! No way i'd be buying a first edition, though. Let them work out the kinks first and drop the price a bit to become a little more reasonable and i'll think about it. Aside, once Apple launches "Air" the other manufacturers won't be far behind...

Other manufacturers are almost always too far behind Apple unfortunately... The slim simple metallic style of a MB Pro is hard to come by from others, especially little niceties that most Windows-based laptops take for granted (like magnetic connect magsafe adaptor, browser scrolling from the trackpad, auto illumination of keyboard when the lights go dim, etc. etc.) .. it's the kind of many little things that get Mac zealots into a tizzy. ;)

The battery not being user replaceable is one thing I always think about.. I'm not sure I'd like that. I do wish I had a Mac at times tho..

so finally i have one product for which i will have to start saving my pocket dimes,
It will burn a big hole in my pocket but is worth the hole with the quality i get, plus being in the class of mac air users is enough to pursue me to pay this.

Ideal for traveling. Shame everything is so overpriced in the UK, a revolution would be good.

Pathetic performance.
Pathetic functionality, they dropped far too much.
Pathetic price.

By far, the worst product Apple has ever put out.
Fail.
