Hello, I think it would be pretty useful to keep track of all LLLL.com sales , even the little ones under $100 so that , pretty soon , when the available LLLL.com will be finished , we`ll have a better idea on market prices.

It is important that these sales are confirmed. So before to post, make sure payment went OK.

I will start with todays` Sedo confirmed sales:

FISE.com 2,700 Euros
TSRT.com US $760
VEUP.com US $1,700

Also, I found interesting to see this average LLLL, getting bids up to $51 and reserve not me. It says it all.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

At NameJet:

ipis - $511

Nice name, but wonder if it could have a less charming meaning if pronounced in a certain way ;)

More LLLL.com domains dropped at 11:00 BST. There's a very low grade CVCV, VCCV and a couple of triple premiums. Please click the top link in my signature to view the list. Edit: all domains taken by 11:18.

A deep scan from a much larger data sample completed at 11:16 BST. No additional available domains were identified.

Plenty of money to be made in bubbles just like anything else.. Sure, some domainers lost out 10-fold, paying above top dollar at peak in anticipation of higher prices to come... Looking at it the other way, naysayers lost out on a 1000% ROI opportunity to buy and flip these names :)

Same goes for .mobi -- returns on the LLL.mobi over the first few months after the extension came out made those who dropped a few thousand on them quite handsome returns. I know JohnTV made out quite well with... .tv. The mistake for many wasn't investing in them in the first place, it was not realizing when it was time to sell.

Yes very true, for those who got in and out quickly there was alot of money to be made. Still can't hide the fact that overall far more money was lost than made from the buyout.

Ditto for .mobi, .tv I would say to a far lesser extent though as I think very few made a profit, it never really had a proper boom for registrants - just a bust.

Very few people bought only at the top, most LLLL.com holders accumulated their stash over a long period - years. I was registering triples with JKUVW well into 2007.

For the low quality stuff it doesn't matter when they've bought. If you put 100k into Enron it doesn't matter whether you paid $50 a share or $10 a share.

Most investments take time to bloom. I suspect many of the later buyers are still holding on -- and who is to say they won't eventually sell at a profit? The economy is improving and domains may become sought-after investments.

This is something that has lost 100% of its value. Regardless of whether people are holding or dropping it is a real stretch to suggest they might eventually do ok. It is not like the segment is down 20% or even 50%. Chances of recovering the money for those investors is very low in my view.

When you have a dozen or two it's perfectly manageable. When you have hundreds of dogs then cash flow takes a hit. It is essential to have a balanced and diversified portfolio. That is a reality you cannot escape from, at least if you treat domaining like a business and not a hobby.
I even got rid off a few low end LLL.us lately (not the worst of the worst), as they produce no revenue and they wouldn't sell for $35 on the forum.

I think that is it, spending money renewing low value names is a bad proposition most of the time. It is like paying 20% taxes on a block of land - it has no income + negative cashflow, and Verisign is the tax man. Personally I've sold off names like that as much as possible as well (mainly .info's). Have let a couple of LLLL.com's drop aswell (originally registered for traffic).

I think the stats for CRNA "Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists" are more compelling than the slavic word, as far as the buyers are concerned. Over ten paid ads at almost three dollars max, and 20K searches monthly -- and to boot, CRNAs make over $100K salary, so a development project for work placement, etc could pay much higher dividends.

Good buy, in my mind.

Think so too, I took IIAP today from NJ.

I didn't think it could reach a price like that, but with the stats you're presenting it's a good deal for the buyer.

Haven't we seen SSSA.com sell recently? That's the opposite letters of AAAS.com and I don't think it went for nearly as much money!

I would rather have AAAS.com personally. There are far more end users for the "AAA" acronym them "SSS".

Bought WPQI.com Thursday on eBay for $1.45 and am thrilled with the bargain.
I always like LLLL.com ending in "I" for Inc.

Also has good acronym combinations like:
- WordPress Quick Install
- WordPress Quick Income
- Wind Power Quality Improvement

That's a nice one. I remember offering $3300 for it about 18 months ago (March 08) -- pretty good example of how the quality LLLL.coms have performed much better than weaker ones over the past 18 months.

I've always wondered why LLLL.coms (and domains in general) tend to sell for 4 x more on NameJet than on any other venue. :P

I don't think they sell for 4x more. These particular domains sold yesterday are excellent, check them in details. I've had luck buying domains at NJ, but if you know better places to buy, let me know :) Snap has much less high quality llll.com's, and you can rarely get a bargain, same with Tdnam, and actually it is similar with the forums as well. People don't want to sell their high quality llll.com's to resellers. :imho:
