When I looked at the most popular forum sites, I saw the following combinations of names:

forum
forums
talk
web

What do you think is the best forum domain combination? (without forum and forums)

Community I guess all depends of the target niche in order to pick next most generic name but unless it brings traffic type in alone it will make little difference as largest forums don't take any of it into consideration. Best part about forums is the content creation.

I am a forum enthusiast myself. Some of my forums have the suffix you have mentioned. But i have two that don't have the suffix. But they are a slogan for a movement. So when you mentioned the name, it is by itself a group. For example Ubuntu, namepros

However, I would suggest the following suffix/prefix for forums:


pros
group
panel
spot
room
corner
hideout
underground
team
people
guru(s)
agent(s)
wizard(s)
zone
brothers/sisters
buddies
pit
.......list is endless

We used to have a number of small forum sites. The most-searched keywords are pretty much defined by the category of forum and the behavior within that interest.

Probably for most hobby forums, "groups" and "forum" are strongest. If it's sports or esports, the keyword "zone" is also a strong one.
