I've been noticing that no buyers are really intrested in .CC. Most of them have no values and when ask for the appraisal even some good keywords are appraised in low value or reg. fee and sometimes even ignored. I only hold the total of 38 of this ext but most of them are double letters L-L.cc and double numbers N-N.cc. I also have 5 of 2 char and the rest are some good keywords.

I used to visit this Forum called speculator.cc once in a while but it is now parked at Sedo. I used to believed that this ext will pick up but now that is no longer the case. If the owner of the only Forum for .CC gave up the site this is telling me that I should also let go most of my .CC for which I will not hesitate to do so since keeping these domains would only bring lost in my portfolio.

Now my question is...
is this the beginning of the end of .CC? or is there a hope in this dying extension?

I don't think dead but it will never be big. I recently sold a dictionary word for mid $XXX (wholesale). There, in the recent past been a few high XXX and I think low XXXX sales. I have a couple parked which make a bit of profit.

I also dont think .cc will ever be big. There is nothing special about it that makes it stand out from the other 200 TLDs to make it become big. .tv is for videos, .mobi is for mobile phones, .fm is for online radio, and big countries have their own ccTLD. Its not worth hanging onto them and having to keep paying the renewal fees. Its only worth it for the very top keywords just like with all extensions, such as RealEstate.cc, Sex.cc, Porn.cc, Poker.cc, etc.

I regularly get offers for my LL.cc but they are also 2 letter words or strong acronyms.
As nrmillions said though, the top keywords would hold value.

That was some descent sales for .CC. Were they develop or just for the domains?

I have some some good dictionary words but not the top keywords.

Hark you must have some great marketing skills. I am always open into some suggestion.

I've read a lot of your comments in this forum and you are very professional in your comments.

I am in the market for LL.CC'S. How much would a half premium... not a real word... go for? :D

I used to run Speculator.cc, and I assure you that I didn't close the forum because I gave up on the .cc. The reason Speculator is closed, is because I've abandoned development to focus on my offline investing projects a little more.

I still think the .cc is one of the best cctlds to use as an alternative to the .com, and I still have a large portfolio of .cc domains.

I think it's tough to get appraisals on .cc's because most people are still trying to feel out the market. There are decent scattered sales here and there, but nothing to truly bank on. If you've got some great keywords, and shorties... my advice is to hold long term. The internet can only expand, and while there may not be an immediate need... you can bet that in the future, there will be. IMHO.

I should proofread things better. I just had the 1 sale (via direct contact from the buyer). Others I read about here and there.

I let a good keyword .cc drop a little while ago - hairstyles. I was planning on developing it but never got around to it. Too much on my plate. I did get a low XXX offer for it but I declined it because of the development plans I had at the time. I hope whoever has it now does something good with it or sells it for a great price! And I do hope this extension takes off one day, it's a nice short one and so easy to remember with the double cc. How long has it been around? Anyone know?

I think you should keep the n-n, l-l and two lettered ones for sure. Those are always popular. :)

ManicGirl thanks for your insight. After reading all the responds I am now having a second thought. I don't really want to let go some of these good domains but I may just keep them for another year and see what happen. I am sorry to hear that you abandoned the speculator.cc due the the conflict of interest.

I had an offer for my LN.cc and NL.cc in low $xxx couple weeks ago but for some reason I turned it down. I don't know if that was a wise decision or not but let see what happen.

I almost sold always.cc on the namepros auction, but the buyer flaked. Eventhough I got a subsequent $30 offer I decided to renew as my only .cc name, but as Jennifer alludes to the market will expand, and I am hoping the value will increase as well.

I think...it depend upon the domain you got....
I have pro.cc/biz.cc and one chart .cc....
and have sold 4-5 .cc domains...

L-L.cc/N-N.cc..I don't think it is good to invest...

i believe that .cc is not bad if it is associated with a higher pagerank

my friend who is a system analyst, will certainly buy more .cc as he said

but i feel that price is high now, need to be lower a little bit.

L-L.cc
M-M.cc
O-O.cc
R-R.cc
X-X.cc
Y-Y.cc
Z-Z.cc

but they are all 3 chart...even bad than 000.cc/..../LLL.cc/MMM.cc....
so I don't think this kind of domains are good to invest..

what I said is...I have sold four or five .cc domains...not 4-5.cc..=.=
my .cc domains also include "1.cc"

I can't think of any really big brands that use dot cc domains, but I think they're a good way for the little guys to get nice generic domains to develop. I registered cheerleaders.cc about a year ago, I would like to think its worth more than it owes me. Gets 20 - 40 type in's per month.

.cc is a bad invensment, why are you all not buying .mobi on the aftermarket?

For a domain speculator dot cc may be a low performer, but for a web developer looking to secure a good keyword or keywords, dot cc can be secured for much less than other TLD's.
