dot cc mostly gone on 1and1, why

Anyone know why on sedo when i search most of the dot cc are gone. Just woundering why? even if the dot com is avalible the dot cc is gone??

hmm they must have some problems with whois database, I remeber that the same thing was with .org domains some time ago

This is an example but say you search for play .cc
1and1 show that is avalible but playonline.cc and any other sugestion they have would show as taken. Its like they want you to think you had a good idea so you reg. Also when I search sometimes is shows that its avalibe but when you go to reg it says its already gone. Mostly with .us or .biz? Maybe just system error.
