So, I've been looking at the auctions, and I bid $1 on a name that had been valued at $32,000 ( buy it now price ), and it had about a month to go before the auction closed. A few days later someone bid $2 for the name. I continued watching it, and the next bid was $3. It sat at $3 for several days. I was off the net for an hour or so whilst I drove to Portsmouth, and during that time the BIN price dropped to $50, and someone has bought it.

Don't you just hate it when someone pulls the rug out from under you. :)

However, since name.com's names are now sent through namejet first, they hardly have any quality expired inventory available anymore. The good stuff gets picked up at namejet, and there isn't much worth picking up among the leftovers that are then sent through name.

Thanks as well for the info, I always wondered why their inventory was low par but saying that its a good system. Dynadot is hit and miss and Namesilo is a joke when it comes to people renewing at the last minute.

The problem with Dynadot and Namesilo is if you use Paypal to pay for expired auctions and they get renewed, you're kind of stuck with a (sometimes) large account balance that you can't use and can't send back to your Paypal account

@Kuffy - Congrats! You got one! The auction has been won so the sale has ended.

Which one was that? I've picked up a dozen or so in the last week. If I remember correctly, WiseAccountant.com came from an auction. I need to cut back on buying though, and do a bit more selling and developing, I put a bid on DNroute.com to use as a surfer traffic redirection site, but I subsequently picked up DNsend.com from a drop list, and I started to use that for my VPS. I've now got DNroute which I don't need any more. It looks as if it might be a reasonable name though, as it can be used for a lot more than internet traffic movement.

Ah yes. That was a bit high priced for me. :)

It's one I want to keep and monetise. Most of the search results are for sensitive in relation to skin care products, and that is not the same thing. With the increasing use of toxic chemicals and bad diet, I think sensitised could be a useful earner. That assumes that I move my euphemism, and do some work. :)
