I know people have talked about this before, but I really think it should be changed. The age to cut off now is 17, IMHO thats too young. the def. of a teen is 13-19, on my Teen Forums I use 20 as the cut off limit, but usally its 19.

so RJ, do you think you could raise it to 19? I imange more teens would post if you gave them access ;)

Thanks,

Chris

Please people there is a reason why the age is set at 17. Legalities please. If you want a teen chat forum to talk to underage people this shouldnt be the place.

If you 18 and over. Time to mingle with the big kids now and eat at the big peoples table now.

You're basing that on how the numbers are pronounced.. When you turn 18, loads of things change and you get more rights.

A teenager or teen is a person whose age is a number ending in "teen" in the English language: that is to say, someone from the age of thirteen to the age of nineteen. The word is of recent origin, only having appeared in the mid 20th century. Equivalent words in other languages may apply to a larger age bracket, including (at least some) preteens; e.g. tiener in Dutch officially from 12, colloquially from 10.

In Western culture, a distinct youth culture has developed. This culture is often distinctly different from the mainstream culture, sometimes in rebellion against it, and thus is often referred to as a subculture or counterculture.

Seems you are strongly opposed to the prevelance of young domainers at this forum. I assure you that most of us [teens] conduct ourselves as maturely as any other age group on the forum.

If you'd like to discuss the matter feel free to shoot me a PM

There is really no point to argue this...

edit: I forgot to say how the quote ties back into this age: 247247217.

The colon states that the next clause will modify or add evidence to the previous clause, so the selection you provided is taken out of context. But truly, you're right, no point.

RJ says its 18 now but may extend it to 19.

I would personally say 18 should the cut off point.

I think once you reach 18, you can't see the forum anymore?
That's perfect. Keep it how it is.

Agreed. By the age of eighteen one can "legally" buy and sell domains without the need for parental consent.

18 is when you can see the Adult forums. No need for the teen forums anymore..

Currently a member will lose access upon turning 18 (legal adult age). I'm considering moving this to 19.

Peter, perhaps you could start a poll in the Teen Zone to see what the general consensus is among teens on this issue.
