Can someone explain the specific drop time cycle involved when a $5 close out sale ends at TDNAM?

I'm noticing that hundreds of LLLL.COMs are starting to get dumped there and hope to hand reg a couple if they happen to make it the 5 days without getting scooped up. Thanks.

( I've got my eye on some with 3 days left)

It is exactly a week from the date that you pay for the domain that it becomes yours.
Example: You pay the $5+ reg fee on Friday December 05, it is in your account at 00:01 hrs on Friday December 12th.

Thanks. But I'm interested in what happens to the tens of thousands of domains that go unsold. Exactly when do they become available to hand reg? I don't see this in the FAQ.

( For example: A domain that currently has 3 days, 8 hours left and goes unsold. Is it possible to calculate the exact time it will drop. )

If it's in the $5 close out section and you want it do yourself a favor and buy them now before somebody else does. I made that mistake last week on a .com domain where the .net version sold for $3,000. I was "thinking" AKA procrastinating on buying it and then 2 days later somebody swoops in and buys it.

There is a coupon to lower reg fee to $6.99. So you are talking $12 for a name on the closeout section.

It is probably not worth losing over a few bucks.

if you buy 5 (or 10 domains, I do not remember exactly) at $5 TDNAM closeout, you will get them at $4 each I think. GD automatically adjusts price in the purchase cart.

If you are looking to save a few dollars on the names, are they really worth getting? The chances of you catching them on a drop are quite low. If I really would chance it over such minimal savings, I would seriously ask if the names are worth my time.

I would just use a TDNAM coupon & pay the 12.19 for each one or less if you are buying multiple ones.

It's 30 days after the closeout, they'll go into Pending Delete for 5 days. Personally, I think they'll be picked up on the drop, so you'll need to pick them up in the firesale.
