Tax Status: Certification of No U.S. Activities

I'm located in Toronto Canada and I run a few sites with adsense and ebay affiliate links.. My sites are hosted under my own reseller account with Innohosting.

Joining affiliate networks requires you to enter in your tax information.. My question is this--> innohosting is located somewhere in the US (I think) but since I am located in Toronto Canada and I do my sites alone - is it ok for me to certify that I don't have any US activities? I'm just getting confused because it mentioned somewhere in there about hosting services..

Below is a footnote I got from Shareasale.com, an affiliate network:

"if you rent a hosting service from a U.S. company - or utilizing a mail forwarding service, this is NOT considered to be "owning" equipment..."

In short, having your websites hosted in a US-based server EXEMPTS you from complying with tax laws in the US.
