I just finished building my new website: TasteDrop.com. I'm looking for beta testers & some feedback to make this site #1 for domain lists & drop catching, all at the same location.

I'm looking to add the final touches over the weekend & populate the database with the Alexa, PageRank & Name Server fields.

TasteDrop.com offers a realtime whois monitor that can track your domains & alert you of any changes to the domain's ownership records. The name tastedrop.com was actually a hand reg, after about an hour of trying to find a good name for the site & finding all domains that were decent were all taken. Then, there it was TasteDrop.com available - after dropping & being available for over 5 months - I found out later.

Well, I admit, the site needs a little work & tweaks, but it's all in the works. Including a fresh redesign too! After the beta phases, I'm sure it'll be a complete success.

If anyone else wants to jump on the bandwagon, now's the time.

Also wanted to let everyone know that over the next couple days, I will be working on the programming of the drop catching scripts at tastedrop.com. So things may not be working for those that are scheduling jobs.

In light of some new news, TD will no longer be supporting or featuring the Moniker API. If you'd like to see some tools to help in bulk domain managment for your Moniker domains, I can add member features to help you manipulate your domains. The only problem is that you will not be able to drop catch with the Moniker API anymore.

Straight from the horse's mouth, this is the contract all API members must agree to (to name a few):

API version 0808 (Aug 2008 Revision).

API Users should comply with the following usage policy:

a) Clients need to make sure they have sufficient prepaid funds in their account for registration of domain names

b) Clients must provide a dedicated or static IP address (or range) for activation

c) A maximum of 3 concurrent client connections or queries.

d) A maximum of 500 concurrent domains “under process” at any given time (combined connection total).

e) Queries must go NO faster than 1 per second. Slower queries must be finalized before new queries are submitted.

f) Availability Check to Registration ratio must be kept low.

g) Clients must do availability check before attempting to register names.

PROHIBITED CONDUCT

a) Name Spinning is restricted to one check per minute for the same name.

b) Drop catching activity is not allowed in this system. Clients attempting to register dropping domains risk API access cancellation.

c) A high ratio of failed registration attempts may result in Your account being disabled for API access.

By applying to use the Moniker API Service and the Domain Grabber Software, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to be bound by all terms and conditions of this Agreement and any pertinent rules or policies that are or may be published by Moniker, including the Moniker terms and conditions, located at http://www.moniker.com/help/dtc.jsp .


So with that in mind, to replace moniker - I am looking at 3 - 5 more registrar domain registration API's that are worthy of introducing to TD.

More news to follow as I work out an enterprise solution with the domain registrars that will fit TD with the speed we need for drop catching.

To everyone who's waiting to test the system & recieve free accounts, please bear with me. Things fell through on trying to collect the domain stats of the TasteDrop database. Currently, there's over 2 million domains & to pull up the nameserver info for each domain, alexa & pagerank isn't feasible without extreme measures.

I'm open to ideas on how to populate checks on 2 million+ domains in the course of 3 days or so.

API update. The following API's are added - although in beta mode: ENOM, Directi & ISPProxy.net. If you have reseller accounts at either, feel free to pop in your account details in your control panel.

I'll get back to everyone about the free accounts & more details.

2 million per (3 days) = 7.71604938 hertz

You need to check like 8 domain per sec.
As far as I know, PR checks can be done at 1 per second per IP without getting banned.
Alexa rank check without the API should be like 1 in 10 sec to prevent banning.
