If would like to know what the usual tactics are for the likes of saggydimes or halvarez in a SnapNames auction.

Do they normally make a bid at the last minute or do they tend to outbid you immediately and continue to do so throughout the auction period?

I have a name with halvarez in it also. It;s my first back order so I don't know but would like to also

Is that just a shill bidder for Snapnames?

Well I had saggydimes and halvarez - but fortunately neither bid again and I won the domain for $84 - guess the domain name wasn't amazing!! :)

Halvarez almost never bids much, in my experience. He's like a vacuum that just sucks up tons of names at the default prices. Sometimes he'll bump his bids all to $76 or so at the last minute. But I think he is in too many auctions to worry about individual names much.

Saggydimes (BuyDomains), on the other hand, can be trouble. They have plenty of money, but are pretty disciplined. So if it is a domain you really want, and you're willing to pay a bit over "market value", you should be able to win it even if they go after it. And sometimes they don't really care much about the domain and won't bother bidding more anyway.

you cannot predict with either of them because they favor some names more than others. you have to be there monitoring the auction every time for best results. good luck!

HM is correct! You can't predict either. They have tons of cash and are not shy to use it when they want a domain. The best strategy for winning the domain is to be the highest bidder!
