3 Letter Domain Names on SnapNames in January : Observations

SpaceshipSpaceship
Watch
1) saggydimes won 13 out of 21 total
2) saggydimes won 8 .net's , 4 .org's and only 1 .com
3) sep.org was the third highest domain sale, behind two 3 letter .com's

Implications...

saggydimes (et al) seem to think that 3 letter .net's are on the rise... paying typically around $800 - $1,300. They also seem to not be as willing to fight for the gold standard, 3 letter .com's, as they used to be. 3 letter .org's continue to hover around the $200 - $400 for the most part, but sep.org shows that 3 letter .org's can move well into 4 figures with some end-use imaginable.

More 3 letters are ending in the next few days which will help to further evaluate this, but it seems like folks are looking for deals on 3 letter .net's and .org's expecting to see a rise in their resale value shortly (Or a rise in their type-in market share).

Interesting observation/post...tried to add rep, but apparently i need to spread some around first....guess i added some to u b4 in the past, ill try again later...

anyhoo, cant wait to see what will happen with the other drops, i must say im surprised saggy aint going after those premium .coms....i wish they would do the same with the french premiums, they are costing me....sometimes i wonder if they are boosting some domains on purpose....

Any speculation that this will contribute to a rise in value of other 3 letter domains (other tlds I mean)...

Already have seen more interest in my 3 letter .org's and 3 letter .us's this month than I had in the 3 previous months combined. I'm hopeful that this will gain momentum and will push 3 letter .us's into the "premium" price point level and will push 3 letter .org's to a minimum of $300 - $400 and the premium ones to more the level of sep.org , etc.

I hope so too, but I am really hoping that we will see some .ca sales soon... that is where I personally have been placing my bets, mostly because I can't reg .us and because you can still get some 3 letter .cas for reg fee...
