Then and now and also in the future, there always will be a demand for good 1 dictionary word domains.
But they aren't worth 20k and above.
Not the XYZ extension.
The XYZ sales were reported since 2015, but only Swetha "sells" them for skyrocketing prices.
Turn on the logic (if you have it), and calculate how much Swetha had to spend on renewals before (s)he started to "sell" their domains.
I made around 400k within the last few years (not in domaining), and yes, it was also big luck, but even having money for such an investment, I would never risk them, because this is a high risk.
Remember the "King of the .top"?
He also invested in .top domains and what?
Do you seriously think somebody would risk a such risky investment by spending dozens of thousands of dollars yearly?
Why .XYZ and not BTC?
Do you remember the guy with .company domains?
Where is he?
I don't see a boom of .company domains.
Do you seriously believe a poor Indian girl invested her last rupees in XYZ domains and became a millionaire?
It's amazing how many blockheads are here....
Don't be so naive.
Swetha can be a real person or just a name for a bunch of the XYZ registrar accomplices. But there is the XYZ registrar behind him/her. Yes, XYZ domains cost 1 USD but renewals cost 10 USD, so now calculate her or his amount of domains and multiplicate per 10 USD = this is the sum he or she had to pay yearly to keep all those domains.
This is a scam, the XYZ registrar makes all 1-word domains premium, and this way they bump the worth of XYZ domains. Ok, this is what they think. But the only thing they did with all this scam was to ruin the rest of the reputation of the XYZ domains.
So if someone wants a good keyword XYZ domain, they have to pay a high price to either XYZ registrar or Sweta (they are the same thing since Sweta is backed by XYZ registrar). But there is no XYZ sales, so they "buy" their own domains and then report "sales".
The only thing I can't understand is why many veteran domainers and admins of NamePros support this lie. But they do support it. They can't be so naive, so they have an interest in this deal.
