I have had several questions that needed to be answered. Unfortunately, there is limited research on aftermarket transactions in our industry.

The questions include but are not limited to:
  • Number of domains owned
  • Number of sales per year
  • Platforms used
  • Wants/needs
By successfully completing the survey, with valid and thought out answers, you are being entered into a $500 drawing that will take place on January 1st, 2016.

Please feel free to discuss the topic here or take the survey.

Thanks to all who participate.

Only 15 people have successfully completed the survey. You still have a pretty decent chance at winning the $500. :)

This is your survey? And if so, will you share the results with participants?

Yes, this is my survey.

I had not planned on sharing the results as a survey is rather expensive to run. You have to consider the advertising, giveaway, and application expenses.

I'm projecting the entire thing to cost around $2,200.

OK, well I took it anyway. But it would be great for participants to get a little feedback. The costs are the same regardless of if you share or don't share. Obviously you want to protect the data that might be relevant to your business plan. But a generic statement like the following would be great:

The average domainer in my survey was X years old, had X domains and the average sale price was X.

I completely understand where you're coming from.

The issue being market research has not been made publicly available in the past, which forces me to do it on my own. If I share any of the information those in the market already will be able to adapt accordingly.

Most of the generic information is already available.

I took the survey. I was told it was successfully completed. I never got any questions about Platforms Used or Wants and Needs. After I said no to considering using a landing page, the questionaire shut down, and told me it was completed successfully.

Correct, the survey includes specific logic which determines which set of questions you should be asked based on previous answers. :)

Thanks for participating and best of luck in the drawing.

Took the survey.

Interesting to see if a landing page service might arise from this questionnaire

Happy Holidays!

Done, now show me the MONEY! :D

PS - you could have asked how many offers do you get vs inquirys etc. This would be valuable info.

Some notes, while in the process of taking the survey:

1. it asks about the number of domains and the number of end user sales. My numbers would be distorted as I have recently quadrupled the number of domains I hold, while the sales would still have to catch up. So the question had to be formulated around average holding for past 12 months.

2. landing page: adding "third party" would make it clearer.

Thanks for the input. It's my first survey so there's definitely room for improvement. There will be plenty more over the next 12 months so hopefully I get the hang of it quickly.
