Write NOW! Send Multiple emails!
Do you really believe someone like Elon Musk will personally read and answer your email?

He probably has an assistent to read and respond on behalf of him. You have to realise, people as famous as him receive so many emails each day that reading and responding them would be a full-time job.

Maybe, although I doubt even that, he would respond to a comment on X if you include his X handle in your post. But also there, I highly doubt it. Because on X too, he'd have a full-time job on responding to every post that quotes him. Maybe he will reply to only the most interesting posts.

It is just not easy to get in touch personally with very famous people. They receive so many mails and their social media posts receive so many replies... Reading and responding to all of that would be so time-consuming they'd have little time left for anything else. Most people this famous will have staff that read and reply to emails on their behalf. Maybe a very few interesting emails will be passed on to the celebrity to be read by himself, but if we talk about 1% of the emails they receive it'll be a lot.

It's like trying to personally get in touch with Donald Trump, Barack Obama, Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, the Pope, ... Almost impossible, maybe unless you're a celebrity yourself and/or from their inner circle.

Not sure what Elon has to do with war.

Also, which war are you refering to?

Ukraine-Russia?
Israel-Hamas?
civil war in Yemen?
the war in East Congo with rebel troops from Rwanda invading?

The world at this moment is a whole list of conflicts and wars. So which war is the OP actually refering to?

Also, since he is no longer involved with President Trump, Musk has no influence anymore over political and geopolitical issues. I doubt the majority of leaders around the world still takes him serious. He damaged his image more than anything else during his short stint as Trump's "bestie".

That’s not his job. His job is making investors money

I guess the only reason why people would assume he has some political power, is because he was so close with President Trump, and because he owns X which is often the main channel influential politicians around the world use. That doesn't mean Musk has any political influence however, it's a misconception. If anything, he suffered more damage than good from his short political stint. He tried to influece the English and German elections ("Only AfD can save Germany") ; that totally failed.

To be honest, I don't think Musk knows a lot about politics. Business and politics are very different world, a good businessman doesn't make a good politician. And his reputation is ruined.

Also, does Musk really own X and is able to just suspend accounts and change algorithms? I thought some company like the X Corporation (with several board members) owns X?

Indeed. And even if it were his job, the world won't be a better place with this type of people in charge. He is an ultra-capitalist. The last thing the world needs is someone like him in charge who only thinks about profit and money.

He's not going to play any role of importance in politics soon, and he certainly won't stop any wars.

If you really want to write letters to stop a war, decide which war you focus on, and then write letters to any allies of the country as well as investors in the country proposing to boycott and break diplomatic ties with the country unless they agree to immediately stop the war. Even that may not impress leaders with dictatorial traits, but this will still make more sense than counting on Elon Musk.

Known, yes. Respected? Not so much anymore since ruining Twitter and supporting Trump (on and off).

For sure he has power, but he didn't make himself popular in recent years. I still lament about what happened to Twitter. Luckily BlueSky is slowly establishing itself as an alternative.

I wish it were true. And that he leaves with a one-way ticket.

As much as he may be a brilliant businessman, we don't need people like him in powerful roles. His political views are ultra-conservative, his views on natality are downward dangerous (the world is overpopulated as we speak, and he encourages people to have as many children as possible?), he took over one of the most powerful tools for dialogues across the boundaries of political ideologies and he ruined it.

Not to mention that, while being rich is totally acceptable, his richness is just decadent. I am not saying people who invest and thereby create jobs shouldn't be rewarded and shouldn't be wealthy, but there are limits to what is ethically and morally acceptable.

I don't believe there will be a World War III. A lot of current political leaders on all sides of the political spectrum and in all corners of the globe are barking out loud, but most barkers don't actually bite. And in the end, I believe common sense will prevail as global war has no winners, everyone loses.

In fact, no war has winners, only losers. It's bad enough we see that many local conflicts (Ukraine-Russia, Israel-Palestine, civil unrest in Iran, civil wars in Sudan and Yemen, unrest in South Sudan, tensions on the Pakistan-India border, tensions between China and Taiwan, ...) but that further strengthens my belief that people elsewhere on earth are tired of warfare. So a World War? I don't believe that's going to happen.

He traveled from the future (because of his products) or from a distant past (because of his totally outdated social opinions) ?

Anyways, send him back to wherever he came from. :xf.smile:
