I have a decent domain (WSX.US - Wall Street Exchange) that i'd love to develop into a live stock ticker.
Does anyone know where i can get a (FREE) stock ticker for websites? I'd take any ticker right now, ideally though one that reports stocks from different trade cities? NYC, London, Tokyo, etc.

I'd really appreciate it, the domain is going to waste by being parked right now...

Thanks in advance,

Suggestion:

Create a script, which creates a file with the stock details in, which can be grabbed from various sites using some RegEx.

Then run the script hourly, overwriting the old one, use CRON. (This means each load doesn't query their servers.)

Then just include that html/php file that's created on your page using Javascript.

Edit: NVM, sounds like you want one which would constantly update, and this would put too much strain on most servers.

Hi Dan,
there's a few problems with your idea:
1, i'm not a programmer/coder ;)
2, the stockmarket changes in a matter of seconds, results should/need to be portrayed accurately and quick
3, indeed, i'm looking for a streaming solution, which would be the perfect case scenario for my project..

If you have anything else up your sleeve, please bring it, i'm certainly happy to get as much brainpower together as possible :tu:

If you want it ugly, an iframe with a page inside that refreshes every minute, the content of the iframe would be pulled from one of the sites using regex.

Yup, that's the ugly way, I'm sure there's a cleaner way with JS.
