Star Trek Xl, Yes to Spock and No to Kirk

Apparently Star Trek Xl is due out late 2008. The only orignial character to reprise their role is Spock(Leonard Nimoy) and Captain Kirk will not be in the new movie. They will have new actors/actresses replacing even Sulu, Bones, Scotty(the original Scotty died I believe last year or so), Uhura and Chekov.

I wonder what the story line is on this one. I wonder how they will tie Leonard Nimoy's character into the story line. Especially since their is an entire new cast to the crew. Shouldnt they have just replaced everyone.

i'm sorry, you can't have original star trek w/out kirk, imo....

my guess is that shatner's done too many priceline commercials who wouldn't be able to watch him on the big screen w/out thinking about priceline?

too bad, too bad....it would have been nice to see him on the big screen again.

i hope they do a good job w/the movie....

imo, they did a bad job w/the last star trek series enterprise....for one thing, i think they did a horrible job casting scott bacula as the captain... don't get me wrong, he's probably a great actor and all....but he just didn't fit the part.
imo, his character wasn't very believable.

I am a huge star trek fan but not a convention goer.. LOL (not that it wouldn't be kinda cool).

I've seen evey episode of every spin-off and every movie. I'm ready to take in some fresh StarTrek, I can't wait!

perhaps while they were in the academy?

i enjoy the star trek films + series. they're enjoyable to watch, but ask me what happened in 'season 5, episode 27' of next generation and i wont be able to tell you
