I am an avid sports fan but mainly watching sports. I am a true addict of football (why do Americans keep calling it soccer?!) and try to watch as many games as I can.
The sport I do most is walking, and yes you can consider this a sport if you walk a 10 km! I am a groundhopper, which means I collect photos of as many different soccer stadiums as possible. And to cut costs, I usually walk from ground to ground, sometimes walking over 10 km a day to be able to photograph as many grounds as I can in one day.
I also swim a lot mainly in summer. Swimming pools give me a somewhat trapped feeling. I swim in lakes and sea, the feeling of being surrounded by nothing but water is the true feeling of freedom, especially when you're far enough from the shore and see the people only in the distance. That sense of liberty is unique. And that said, I am a good swimmer, I can easily swim 2 or 3 hours without breaks. But I need open waters, swimming pools aren't my cup of tea. Luckily here in Spain the weather allows bathing in sea for most of the year, from March to early November more or less.
Last but not least I used to play goalkeeper in soccer during my teenage years, not in a club but recreatively with friends. I would still love to play in a club, but I have a mild form of autism and suffer from clinical depression. Functioning in a normal club is impossible. I would like the idea of joining the special handicapped football league, who have a special league for people with psychological problems. I have not come across such league in Spain though, but have participated in some of such games when I lived in the UK.
