Greetings!

We have successfully registered a .ch domain over at http://www.switch.ch/.
When we tried to add the DNS servers for the domain, the system wouldn't allow and advised us to register the nameserver first with the system.

We registered the nameservers and tried to add again after a day. But, the system does not seem to do it successfully.

It just says something like this:

ns1.domain.com : For this nameserver, the delegation check has failed. Please contact your hosting provider.
ns2.domain.com: For this nameserver, the delegation check has failed. Please contact your hosting provider.

We checked the nameserver over dnsstuff and we are certain that it is ok.

Kindly advise.

Thank you!

This may be an internal issue with your registrar. Have you contacted them with a step-by-step method for coming up with that error? They should be able to troubleshoot it for you.

Thanks,
Anthony

Thank you very much.

Just in case, do you have an alternative way of specifying the DNS servers for
a domain without using the registrar?

Thank you!

:)

Not aware of any other methods. Usually nameserver updates are done via the registrar only.

Thank you very much everyone. It appears that Switch needs the original "anonymous" nameservers provided by our upstream provider instead of our other "derived" nameservers bearing our domain name.

Thanks again.
