I own a number of domain names and have a "catch-all" email address setup on them.

Just recently, I received identical emails with subject line:
GoDaddy.com Order Confirmation

The email looks very similar to a regular GoDaddy order confirmation and claims to be coming from [email protected]. It details this purchase:
QTY ITEM PRICE
300 .INFO Bulk Domain Name
Registration (201-500) $357.00
Subtotal: $357.00
Shipping & Handling: $0.00
Tax: $0.00
Total: $357.00

But, the links on that email point to:
http://dextersss-com-ua.1gb.ua/zzx.htm

When I visited that link, it took me to a pharmacy website.

Has anyone received such emails?

One thing that will cut down on such spam: get rid of "catch-all" email adresses, especially for your Whois domain email.

You will get a lot less of that nonsense.

I don't click any links in emails, the email addresses they are sent from are easy to fake and its a major risk clicking anything, if something like that ever comes up I go directly to the site and sort it out that way.

I get daily spamm emails form UPS and iTunes telling me such and such and I need to open a rar with a .exe for find out more, it makes me giggle, however I feel sorry for the people who get caught out on such things.

Ms Domainer: thanks for the advice... I am just curious if anyone has ever seen such spam before. This is my first time receiving spam in this form (masquerading as a GoDaddy order confirmation email).

On one of my emails (not whois), I have been getting spoof messages from Western Union, trying to get me to update my password.

The thing is, I don't have an account with Western Union.

AlexP is right: don't click on anything, even if it looks legit. Better to go directly to the site.

In the case of GoDaddy, you can access your real invoices once you have logged in.

I would forward the emails to [email protected] - they have a department dedicated to issues like this. They might be interested in trying to figure this one out.

I just received the exact same BS email you are talking about.

It has my Customer Number wrong so that is a good place to know it is BS to start with. Plus the email came to an email different than my account email.

I went ahead and forwarded the email to my Account Executive. I am so sick of dealing with online scams. It would be nice if the penalties were more serious.
