I don't know whether the previous buyer was an end user or a domain investor.
Flippa's commission is around 15%. 15% of $160K is $24k. Broker's commission must be around 10% (Well, this is just a guess). 10% of $160K is $16K. Total = $24K+16K= $40K

Net Profit to the seller (Considering he purchased it previously for $100k) = Approx. $20K

PS: This is just a guess. Once again congrats to all parties involved :)

Fully depends on what the enduser has in mind. Imagine the buyer is Adele and her next album is called Soulmate. She would make the term soulmate more popular, thereby the domain more valuable and it would be a wise investment instead of a waste.
