Thanks for the list - most interesting.

I've been to 18 of the cities on this list and as a 'foreigner' I would suggest my favourites, as a tourist/visitor would be

San Francisco
New York
Chicago
Las vegas
Orlando
Houston
Seattle
San Diego

Sorry to say, if anyone comes from there, but the least accommodating of the cities was Boston. I've been there twice and on each occasion given cause to feel uncomfortable.

The least expected nice place was Detroit. Yes it was ugly, yes parts of it were scary, but at the same time it was also one of the friendliest places on my travels and I still have a fondness for the Detroit Tigers! (Got to add, on my first trip there the immigration guy nearly fell off his seat when we said our purpose for being there was a holiday!!!!!)

Washington DC was unexpected as well - I really didn't realise it could get so cold!

Dare I say I got married in Denver so I also have a nice memory of that fair city.

Having said all that, give me Palm Springs in January any time.

My first visit to Cincinnati was for the GLOBAL TV Conference. I thought it was a very nice city, I would consider moving there. Cincinnati reminds me of a larger Richmond, VA - my hometown. In fact they both share the same amusement park - Kings Island in Cincinnati and Kings Dominion in Richmond.
