Something fishy going on?

I just head over to dnjournal.com and would like to have your take on this:

"Their roster was led by an unlikely candidate, a domain with not one, not two, but three hyphens in it! #3 Entre-Midi-Et-2.com changed hands for $35,100 in the highest sale we have ever seen for a triple hyphenated domain. "

wtf?? ll, is it just me or is there something fishy going on?

(and newbies, pleeeaaassseeee refrain from jumping on the 3 hyphen bandwagon lol)

I saw that too and quickly dismissed it as an anomaly, even in this world the fantastical and just plain crazy can still happen regardless of all the self-important scientists telling us they cannot.

If they want to waste/spend their money that is their business :p

If it is a laundering scam then when are Sedo going to get the book thrown at them?

FYI: Sedo accepts cashier's checks that can be easily obtained by walking in to any bank with a big bag of cash. :p

In Germany people like hyphens. Im starting to document all 2+ hyphen names that I see in real life. Just in the last week I have seen 2-3 names on the underground on ads with 2+ hyphens in the name for example "ran-an-die-infos.de" which I thought would be cute as "ran-an-die.info"

The site is currently under construction, but it was a working site, supposedly with 25 million visitors. I don't know if the site goes with the domain.

it says that it targets the 25 million Frenchmen who have a job, not that it has 25 million visitors

it's a catchy name "lunch hour" and a good idea ( dating during lunch hour on week days ) and hyphens are not a big no-no (pun intended) like in English

Its obviously money laundring.
They could have bought something similar for almost free. And hyphens eventhough used in the language are not cumbersome to write with a keyboard.
