submitting your RSS feed to RSS engines and ping sites is also helpful. social media marketing is one of the best methods and you can get high quality backlinks by setting up pages on social sites like squidoo, hubpages, etc.

i would not bother with submitting to search engines as it would be total waste of time. it doesnt provide any value and search engines will find your site through backlinks anyways

Just now I came to know that squidoo and free pages are also a nice way to get the backlinks from them as well.

If you want to get the traffic not links than Yahoo answer and You Tube is also a great option.

Out of all those suggested the ones that i have not done is press release. I did try the article submission but they did not accept my articles but the rest has worked for me.

I'd say that SEO is still the must imporant thing , although these tactics do work, SEO is still top.
