.tv Some Nice Developed .tv's

I spent a few hours last night looking around for some new, interesting and well developed .tv sites to try and get a feel for how things are moving on and how the general public are using .tv's.
I was pleasantly surprised at the number of new sites i found compared to when i last looked around only a few months ago.

Here is a few of the .tv's that caught my eye:

www.ireland.tv
Ireland.tv is owned by a top Irish production company called 'Like it Love It Productions' Really nice site and good to see a Geo being used in an alternative way.

www.thebankingchannel.tv 'The Online TV Channel for The Banking Community '
This isnt thr most impressive site but the reason i found it interesting it that it was a developed 'Channel .tv' for all those who love channels. And the other reason i thought it was important is that it shows how areas that you would not traditionaly associate with TV, Video, Media like Banking are taking advantage of a .tv and building something around this extension.
This site is owned by a company called 'GBTV' who use www.gb.tv

www.InSpain.tv
Inspain.tv is a holiday property company that is advertised often in the UK Media. They sponsor lots of the UK Holiday TV shows and have built a well known brand through their site name of 'Inspain.tv'
This is definetley not a Video site or 'full of rich media content' like many felt .tv's showuld/would have but it works great for them as a brand with them advertising on TV so often.

thanks for that my scottish buddy ,the bridalwave is a very good site ,thing what gets me is ,these site are out there but most people dont use tv ,so they must get overlooked .and how hollywood.tv get so many hits yet there forum is empty looks very fishy to me.

These are great. ShinyMedia.Com has an impressive list of blog sites, most of which use .TV. They're attracting 3.5 million visitors each month. I love it!

I think hollywood.tv has really had those hits, they do have a gossip magazine format going, and Sharaz is no slouch (unlike someone from demandmedia/channelme) , with about 20 new stories a day, they have their own papparzi and they are spending cash on advertising, I saw their watermark logo on a story on CNN last month while in Jamaica, and CNN was quoting an actual story about Britney Spears that was on Hollywood.tv, I'm sure press like that is good for about 20000 hits + returns!

Id made a list of about another 10 great .tv sites covering all different sectors but my virus scan wiped alll my history so they are gone :td:

The reason i was highlighting some of the great sites i have found recently was to try make the point that so many companies & individuals in different sectors see .tv in a different way and are already using it to their advantage.
SOme see .tv as the place for 'rich media content' so it is ideal for new media companies, some see .tv as a chance to own great keywords that they would need to pay 10x more if they wanted the .com (the .com could cost up to 100x times more in many cases)
And some simply see .tv as TV = Television so are building 'Channels' with webTv & traditional TV combined.

Its great to see how many possibilites this extension has and that average, everyday companies who are not .tv addicts like all of us are finding .tv useful & relevant to what they need & want. I could go on & on as i am so glad to see the way .tv sites are poppig up daily but i will end now or i will never get my own .tv 'channel' finished.

Here is another nice .tv developed site i found from a company who took advantage of chance to own a top keyword in a credible extension without having to pay the $xxx,xxx the .com would of cost: Mortgages.tv

When any of you guys get a spare minute and are maybe losing a little faith in .tv then think of any word and type it in on Google followed by site:.tv (Keyword site:.tv), you will see .tv sites for almost every keyword imaginable and some of them will blow you away!

Just a few thoughts...
I understand that nobody can force noone to do that, but...
.tv TLD is for TV channels. It's clear! Other uses are misleading and confusing!
There are just so many TV channels in the world... Putting them in a separate domain is a good measure to bring order. Just like with .travel TLD.
You know, there are no strict rules for file extensions, but still developers and users try to obey those non-written rules to have order (I mean, .exe for programs, .zip for archives etc.). The same situation must be with the TLDs. If a business wants a good name, register with .info, .biz, .at... but not with .tv if you haven't a channel!

Two points: firstly a friend of mine works as a blogger for shiny shiny, and loves it there- hopefully they will buy some of my names!!!

And I have just developed my first .tv www.tories.tv for those that don't know, the tories are also known as the conservatives, and are the equivalent of the republicans in the UK.

I also own labourparty.tv (who are like the democrats in the uk) and will develop that too.
