Hi all,

I have recently purchased a dozen of .com premium domains with the intention of resale, however i am not sure of what kind of price to list em for and if indeed have any value at all!
Could some more experienced than me take a look at my domains and please advice if they are worth anything and a rough idea of what pricing to put?
Apologies if this post might offend anyone it is certainly not my intention to cut corners, i am aware that time, dedication, research and so on are needed for me and this is what i have been doing for the past week (since i had this idea) and i am eagerly learning, but is all confusing for a newby like myself.
If someone could point me in the right direction i would be mostly grateful.

Hi @papix77 and firstly, welcome to namepros.

There is a dedicated appraisal section in the forum and also If you upgrade your membership to "business" a couple of the more experienced members will have a look at your portfolio in the business class appraisal section.

Hope this helps, and good luck as you start your domaining journey!

Unfortunately I don't valuate other domainers domains as I still class my self as a newbie <1 year. Although from valuations I've had on my domains in the past I would suggest staying away from hyphenated domains as this damages the value greatly.

Have a read of my blog post "from one beginner to another", there are a good few links in there that should help out at the begining. Where to look, what to watch, sites to study and other great blogs to read from the pros.

This is something I see newbies do all the time. Title their domains as "premium" What makes you belive they are so? I see a lot of keywords put together but dont make sense. All IMO are under reg fee and I class these as classic ebay domains. Meaning they will sell for a few dollars each on their and that is about the worth.

Dont get upset but again this is my 2 cents.

sorry for the confusion, i thought the definition of pemium domain is 1 2 words with .com hence my logic in listing as premium. Apologies for the mistake made.
I won't get upset at all, it is a learning curve for me and all advice especially bad one is welcome.

Many thanks for the link.
i will refrain in buying more domains for the time being. until i get a better picture. :)
I dont mean to sound argumentative... but doesn't lets say buypetcare.com be classed as a direct wording for the search of pet care services in general as well as pet insurance? My logic is likely wrong, therefore i would like to understand better.
what would be the best course of action for the unusable domains? just let them sit there for the 12 months?
many thanks for taking the time to read this.
Regards to all
Dan

Unfortunately theses names are weak, hyphenated or not proper English.
Don't forget that everything that is still available to be registered in 2015 is unlikely to be valuable. There are exceptions of course, if you know what you're doing.

thanks for your reply, so would it be better to purchase existing domains?

Quick learner here :)
The answer is yes, probably. But first of all you need to know what to buy, and what not to buy, otherwise you risk making bad purchases.

Don't see any worth anything.

Most are a word soup. "DIVORCEGAYLAWYER.COM" sounds like a site for someone who wants to divorce a lawyer who happens to be gay.

it may be suitable for you then :)

Jokes apart, if i key in google "divorce gay lawyer" i get lots of lawyers who specialize in the new trend of faggots marriage / divorce. Unfortunately i don't know how to attach photos here, it seems only links.
I thought the key was to use key words which will bring the search engines results.
but probably you are right.
but i may add i can accept criticism.. but yours is pure sarcasm, my post is to get ideas and pointers in what i am doing wrong... not to get the idiot of the village to make his idiotic comment and leave nothing positive behind....

also out of all the non sense domains which i own.... why pick on the gay one? :)

Anyway if all you have to write is negative stuff without any positives pointers please refrain in future.

Stay classy. Sheesh.

I'll leave you with a positive comment: You've managed to get added to my ignore list faster than anybody else on the site. Good Job!

But you do realize that you are searching keywords in random order ? These are not proper standalone English sentences
I guess you are not a native English speaker - The New Guy gave you an accurate translation of what your domain would actually mean. This is somewhat of tongue in cheek comment, but accurate nonetheless.
PS: I am a village idiot too :)

Hello there,
probably this is the wrong thread and i apologize for that,
reason for my inquiry is that i received an email from someone interested in purchasing one of my domain.
I really do not know what to make of it if its a scam or a genuine, and the email states:
Hello!
>
> I represent an investor who needs xxxxxxxxxxxxx.com for a new project.
>
> Are you still interested in selling this domain?
>
> If so, please reply back and we will negotiate the price and discuss the sale process.
>
> Are you a beginner in domain sales or an experienced seller?
>
> Best Regards,

the domain in question is one of those "poorly spelled non english native" of the above.

in your opinion is this a genuine email? and if so what kind of price could i push for?

And finally how would i transfer the domain and ensure i get paid?

Apologies for the many questions, hope someone will help me out.

Cheers
Dan

Hi

I like MagazineScience.com
$xxx-$xxxx low.
Promote it on a science website to get more attention, ask to split profit, therefore willnt cost a penny to ad.
Good Luck!

You wont need to worry about how to transfer the domain and get paid because this is a scam email. Newbies and vets alike get them all the time. It gets you excited at first then you realize you are in a pool with others that get scammed.

Sorry but again if you want to make money with these domains (at least your money back) then sell them on ebay.
