Hi All!

I made my first purchase a few days ago of VideoPug.com from an expired domains list and paid about AUD$1.40 for it. It was a hand-registration at GoDaddy.

I figured that it was a .COM, and a pretty good brandable for a social-network relatable site or something like that, so I submitted it to both BrandBucket and Namerific.

After all, Namerific accepted it in a matter of hours; and they're asking to list it at what I recommended, $999 for me and around $600 in commission and payment for the future graphic designer.

What do I do? Does this sound like an appropriate sale price? I really have no idea what it could be worth as I am so new to the industry, so I'd love some advice.

Thanks!
Matt.

As a name, it's clean, simple, and short. If someone wants to brand a video website using a pug dog, then the domain could work for them.

However, that person is unlikely to show up any time soon. And, assuming that person does think of the same domain, it's still more than likely going to be someone who doesn't want to pay more than $10 or who has enough other choices to select the domain based on whatever's cheapest -- which limits the price for your domain.

f you're looking for a list price for it, I would suggest something below $1000 to increase the likelihood that someone casually curious about the domain might buy it.

I'd say it's a long shot.
