What is the difference between these two domains?

The socceroos.com has nothing on it and the owner has it for sale. If you have a domain name idea for a business in Australia, does it need to have the .au extension in addition to the .com extension? What if you have said domain name, in .com only, how do you propose it to an Australian businessperson? Do you need to register the additional .au extension before doing so?

Most Australian businesses use .com.au

You have to have an ABN (Australian Business Number) to register .com.au names

Yep the au is most accepted in Australia, rare for just a com.
