I'm using Appraisal Tools as a Guide to whether or not I should register a domain but I'm finding sometimes there are huge differences in Appraisal Value on some appraisal tools. For instance, HealingSeek.com which I just registered basically because of a Namepros Thread has an appraised value of $4,381 on Dynadot and less than $100 on Godaddy. I know apprised value isn't usually what you can sell a domain for if it does sell, but in cases like this which appraisal is more likely to be right and how do you know it beforehand? Thank you for your input.

Unfortunately automated appraisal tools are a nonsense.

Much better to calculate a domains value based on factors like, but not limited to..

Amount of extensions registered,
Amount of similar domains registered,
Amount of businesses operating with that name,
Amount of businesses operating with a similar name,
Social media usage of said term or word,
Current social trends,
Current domain trends,
Personal domain sales experience,
Existing listing prices for other extensions,
Past sales of the same or similar names.

Hi, Surprised to see a NP member of over ten years believing there is any accurate prediction to be had from valuation tools. Mr Haynes has outlined all the steps that each of us take when helping to arrive at a sales price for individual domains. The most important one being 'Personal domain sales experience' which in turn allows us to Balance the results of each of the other factors into a relatively structured view/price for a domain.

There isn't a winner in these automated tools. The day AI algorithms can accurately input and process all the above points we will all be using them. Valuation tools are nothing more than a shop window promotion by the registration service. or another entity with self-interest at the forefront

You make some good strong points but for those of us with limited time, it is hard to engage that much. One would assume that there is obviously a demand for apraisal tools or they wouldn't exist. One would then assume there would be some consistency. There isn't. I'm sorry but if I see a couple of places appraise a domain worth hypothetically $5,000 I likely will purchase it for $12.15 but at the same time if they value the domain under $500 I won't as a basic rule. The problem is when Godaddy appraises a Domain at less than $100 and other places appraise the same domain at $5,000. Furtermore, the selling price likely won't be 40% of the appraised value and one needs to set a buy it now price. I'm now using anywhere from $2,000 to $250 which ia 25% of the alleged appraised price. What's this based on? Nothing that's the problem. There is no specific guidance.

Domain is too long imho. It has its use when you make project for it and SEO.
I personaly would prefer something like "remedy" than generic boring "healingseek".

Remedy of course is taken premium so you should make research to find something more attractive - brandable.

But some people maybe like generic terms and want project made on that. Such people rely that people directly put that in browser.

So to price such domain, its value is in that direct attraction, you should park it, test it and than value it.
Collect data than act.
