Hello,

I have been thinking about a site which lists domains which have sold at SnapNames.com so people who were not in the auction can see how much the domain went for. It would be database powered with various sort and search functions. I think it would be a great idea, the only other site which lists snapnames domain names is http://www.dnjournal.com/domainsales.htm but they just list recent sales.

The site would be a helpful resource for people to find out the current market state and how prices have increased to date.

Would SnapNames allow an idea such as this? Or would they feel all final sale prices are private (although anyone can backorder a name).

Would anyone be interesting in helping with the development?

Tell me what you think about the idea, I feel it would be sucessful, although a bit niche.

It probably would be best if you ask SnapNames that.

Overall, though, if it works then I think it would be a good resource for domainers. It would be a valuable tool in trying to arrive at the price of a domain for many and it would provide a source for potential ideas for new names.

Yes, I agree. I would first ask the company if it is okay. I am sure if you were to make a good enough design it would just help promote their sales!

The question would be:

What would be in it for SnapNames? (They get all the revenue from the selling prices)

You need to put yourself in Snapnames' shoes before asking
