heres a idea for you... quite a good one i tihnk... well should i start it now and stop going ...

ok here it is...
You could start a site where people can make a protfolio hosted on your site. Like a blog hosting service but for portfolios. I think that this idea might work. I would try i myself but i do not have the time nor knowledge. If someone did this it would be quite interesting to see where it goes. And if it makes you millions then i should never of written this post and im going to jump of a very large cliff.

lol i ahd it ages ago so there :P im not a coder either thats why i didnt do it. Im a designer. Maybe some of us here could start it as a group project. If we get some coders involved we can design the layouts and they can code the backend and such. Then each of us can have ads on differnet pages so we all get revnue or something or we have one account and split it up between us.

That's an interesting idea, however I'm not sure if people would want their portfolios hosted on a remote site, instead of in one of their domains.

yeah, for freelancers it could be useful. Then we can have a partner site offering free domain masking :P If you use this idea you have to include me in your will (joke) but it would be nice to get included if anyone wants to start it.

Yeah, that would make them seem unprofessional and deter good reputation.

It might make it seem unprofessional, however it could have the effect of advertising.

Say you can search through portfolios and maybe even add a rating system to things if you have done business with a certain person or something.

Once the site gets going and starts to earn reputation it could become very large.

I would love to help out with a project such as this, I would even consider possibly hosting it. (I would have to get it approved with my host first)

Yeah, it may seem unprofessional but having anything hosted for free like this seems unprofessional but people do it. Thanks for your support. We need a coder, i can do design work and we need anyone else who decides to contribute.

dont forget the use of subdomains. Pick the right domain name and you're sorted.

although that domain is taken, it would work well, eg: atomic.myportfolio.com

looks individual enough to look like a personal site :D

all you have to do is find a good domain, which should be easy, right :D

the blog idea would work but to buy a blog hosting scripts cost$$( bloghoster cost $199 ). for that price you may has well get a freelancer to code it all for you :hehe: .

i could help code too. im not really amazing at php but i do know a thing or two
