Hi guys,

I wondered if anyone could advise on a timeline for how long snapnames takes to "acquire names".

Much appreciated,

Craig.

*quick update*

The process took just over a day but snapnames failed the catch..

Would it of been better to use multiple backorders from different sites?

Kind regards,

Craig.

Was this a Pre-Release or Pending Delete Auction. If Pre-Release (NameJet terminology) you don't need to use anybody but SnapNames. If it's a Pending Delete, you slightly improve your chances if you use multiple Backorders, but only if other people are interested in the domain. Nobody else interested, then SnapNames is the best place to place a single backorder, imho.

Thanks for the reply stub.. Pretty sure it was pending delete.

I checked the who is on it earlier and someone else has it..

Think next time i'll go with a few backorders!

If it's a really valuable name, forget it, someone on the inside (like an employee) of the drop-catcher has advantage over you. But if you're looking for 3rd-rate and lower drops, knock yourself out. Oh, by the way, Snapnames has a history of shill-bidding in probably thousands of auctions over a period of years. http://www.socaltech.com/oversee_s_snapnames_hit_by_domain_bid_scandal/s-0025031.html

If that link doesn't tell you what you need to know, merely Google "Snapnames Fraud" or "Snapnames Scandal" for lots of documentation.

If you believe one lone employee was responsible for all the fraud, and no one else knew about it, then you are probably fooling yourself IMHO.

Ha, yeah I read about that when I was doing some research.. If you can't trust a random domain catching service, who can you trust :hehe:

Wasn't that valuable, just a lll.org, which I thought would of been worth more than the backordering fee.

0-1 so far :bah:
