I know I should (and I am thinking abou it) consider taking the offer and going for an auction, but I am not too thrilled with the possibility of it selling for $100. Its on sedo.

What would you suggest?

Thanks guys, as always!

For $100 I would personally say no and develop it :) Unless you need the cash ..
Banking is huge on mobiles

That is my problem, tho.

-It is a huge market.
-I do have 160 names.
-I could use a sale.
-But dang.. $100?? Its just not tempting enough for me to risk it.

Although, it might get a lot of bids once its on auction.

Decisions decisions :'(

I dont know if I'd hold onto it just yet. Chances are it's some domainer thinking your a noob and lowballing you. I'd counter with $2,000 and see if thats not the case. Worst case, you still have your domain and its definitley worth holding onto afterwards.

I would hold onto it or waiting for a higher offer on sedo before sending it to auction. Wireless is the future of banking!

I would have a hard time letting that name go for $100. If finances will permit it I would hold for a year. Let the tech catch up and "that" market will start being promoted heavily.

Another option is to counter with a strong number and test the buyer. If it's a SEDO listing then bump up the min offer amounts so you wont be in this position again. Excuse my liberty with assuming....

I can empathize with you as well as understand the dilemma.... I recently bumped up my mins at SEDO from $100 to $400. For this very reason! I think it makes the decision a bit more reasonable and kind of filters out low ballers. Not so hard to ask for Six or Seven Hundred when you've already recieved an offer of Four or Five Hundred. Much more of a strecth from $100

PS

iJams is HOT! I love than name!

Happy Holidays

Thanks again guys.

I have decided to ignore that offer and up my min offer. I think all of your advice is sound and I appreciate it very much. Playing the counter-offer game with some one who is trying to rip me off is does not sound like fun. If he/she is serious, they will offer a much more interesting amount :)

Who knows.. maybe next year , you will see an all out bid-war on the name lol. then I will have all of you to thank for my good fortune :)

Happy New Year to all of you :)

Namenut.. thanks lol. I am getting attached to iJams.mobi now lol.

If I owned it, and didn't have plans for its development ... I would have sold it for $100+ to perhaps recoup some of my .MOBI investment costs (had I registered quite a few .MOBI's recently, etc.), IMHO. :guilty:

Just my two sense.

Also, this from November:

They're actually using a .mobi address too.

I would hold off on accepting the offer or starting the auction at $100.

Great article there...proves Europe and Asia are far ahead of the States in mobile usage and dev...a bright future ahead imo

It depends on how this name compares to the rest of your portfolio. You donโ€™t want to make the mistake of selling your best names and keeping a bunch of lower quality names as many people usually do. If the majority of your names are better than this one then you might not miss this name later on if you sold it, but if this is one of your top names then it would be best if you wait it out. Many people have sold their names cheap at the very beginning just to find out that they were worth big money later on. IMO

i think it's a very good name

only you know your cash flow situation as far as whether to keep or sell

i think wireless banking has a big future

the downside is that to actually implement wireless banking requires immense capital outlays for very secure infrastructure, this will not be a game for little guys

but when the big guys all decide thek need to get into this game then bam they will all want a name

these are the kind of names that will take 2-3 yrs to mature and then could be worth a lot of cash

i'd file it away

i'd sell your myferretspace.mobi instead :hehe:

Do I have myferretspace.mobi? :? :?

LOL
Thanks for the input.
I am just about positive I will hold the name. I do have pletny of other names. This one appeared 3 times on the top 5 list for MPers when my names were looked at. It will probably be one that has to mature as you suggested.

I am itching to see a name tho lol. Why is that???

I bought Mobi Banker (dot) com a while back before .mobi got big or anyone could register it, hoping that "mobi" will become a common term to people for "mobile".

We'll see.....

I think Mobi Banker (dot) mobi is still available if anyone wants it.
