Who used video scripts, what are the costs, are there pros and cons?

What are the best most customizable free ones for use cheap tards?

Good thread Showbiz I have not used any yet I keep looking at Clip Share and read their forum seems like all these scripts you have to worry who they ripping off, who are the legit owners of the script, if it has bugs who and when will they fix the script?

I have used this script.. it has goods point and bad points... to be honest you need to have quite of knowledge in php, mysql and html to alter the script to fit what you need. Also you need root access to the server to install the modules for video conversion. If you do not have root access you cannot use this script.. and if you do have access you will need to know to run the commands to install the mods (mplayer, mencoder etc). Clipshare staff will install them for an additional $50. On the plus side they do offer alot of fixes and additional features at no additional cost for 3 months. This has come in handy for me.. Hope this info helps.

When I launch generic.tv I will be putting up alot of info on how to install and edit scripts in order to help out other .tv'ers.

Virtuali if you do not have the coding knowledge will ClipShare do it all for you so it runs the correct way ? Thank you

Personally, anything that is that in depth that requires root isn't for the novice or first time builder. In some cases not even seasoned builders.

I have root, but try like mad to stay away from things that actually need it.

1.) pay another $50 for them to install the modules.
2.) pay another $50 again for them to setup the script as well.

So bascially if you do not know how to set this stuff up you will have to pay another hundred bucks to get it working... after they do the setup it is up to you to make the changes...

That is relatively cheap IMHO to ensure its done properly.

Agreed...

Its not a bad deal compared to what out there at all. The only thing is you have to wait abit cause they are very busy. But over they are pretty good.

I worked wih siradio and his TopMediaScript. He did the install, made all the modifications I needed;
1. Added my custom header
2. I didn't want a "Bands" category, he deleted.
3. I wanted a button to return to the "Channel" home to get back to the root directory as well as a "Video" home for just the video sub-domain.\
4. Added another "Channel" home link at the top in my header.

All for $40.00 - I will be starting to add media now, so don't know about that part yet, but i am very pleased so far. I am going to be rolling out a series of "Holiday"Channel.TV sites as well as other affiliate related sites with his script.
