.tv developing .tvs - Need opinions

Hi everybody, I am planning to develop some .tvs that I have. I made a research for available scripts. For making a youtube clone, a video sharing portal there are some available.

One is PHPmotion, distributed free of charge as an open source project, they are selling plugins and support. Has anyone tried it? There are also commercial ones starting from 99$, going up to 500$. Hosting prices seem cheap enough. So initial investment won't be too much.

What is your opinion on developing .tvs with a youtube clone? Anyone tried? Does it worth spending time and energy? or should I continue parking, where I am having few type-ins but clicking users.

Nope, I researched them. For video hosters the cheapest one is giving 5GB disk space, 100gb bandwith 3$ per month, doubling features cost 5$ per month

also there is another hosting gives unlimited bandwith and unlimited diskspace for video hosters for a 9$ monthly fee. You pay 5-10$ for regular hosting and extra 9$ to make it unlimited.

You can get decent ones for around $35 or so.

yep, it is called as FFmpeg Hosting, users upload videos to your hosting account and it converts to flv on the fly, some scripts also allows you to put your logo on videos. It is so nice if the content will be shared on other sites, you will be losing your bandwidth but marketing your site, which is better.

Be careful, hosts can be iffy.

Don't just pick one because they are cheap, pick one because of reputation.

For what you want to do, you would be MUCH better off with a semi or dedicated server or vps. Cheapest you will find is about $45 for an iffy one, expect upwards of $100+ for a good one.
