Site Design Critique

Hi!

i was wondering if some of you guys could take a look at a site I am designing and give your opinions:

not all of the links work at the moment, in fact only commitee, photos and members actually do anything as of yet.

I am updating the current website from www.ruds.org

what do people think so far? does the navigation work well? are the colours ok?

one think I definately think is that the pages look a bit bare at the tops, maybe I eed a header on each page, but i'm not sure...

Its looking quite good at the minute. Maybe make the links a bit smaller the text is pretty big.

The main page is just too long it needs to be shorter. The people images just dont look nice to me maybe a true photo style would be better

Ok, I need to change that, don't have any image-manip programmes to hand however, will do that later.

You were looking at a mid-testing stage of that page, if you look at it now it should be only displaying 5 articles a page. And that probably won't be the opening page any how, I need to put an introduction type page on soonish. With the photo, I'd prefere not to use a real photo image, with so many members running through the society it will soon look at of date and the people may no longer be members so that inbetween style is a nice inbetween I think, however I may rethink it if I can find something else suitable

yeah, the image looks pixely sorta, but overall, nice loo, a little too much one homepage tho

It loads a bit slow for me....

Looks good otherwise.

I think the imagery is good, the orange links are working well, a i think you should do something to make the main text a bit more interesting perhaps slpit it up with selected qoutes, images etc...
