A search for www.site.com returns URLs that begin with www and a search for site.com returns URLs for all subdomains. (So, site:google.com returns URLs such as www.google.com, checkout.google.com, and finance.google.com).
This is something new to me :)

Historically, Google has avoided showing pages that appear to be duplicate ...
However, with a site: command, searchers are likely looking for a full list of results from that site, so we are making a change to do that. In some cases, a site: search doesn't show a full list of results even when the pages are different, and we are resolving that issue as well.
Note that this is a display issue only and doesn't in any way affect search rankings.
Some useful information here :)

Thanks KC,

Indeed an interesting blog post.

I wasn't aware that a site:domain.com search would reveal subdomains.
Thanks for the info!

Also something i would like to ad is in regards to the mentioning of supplemental results in the linked post, there is also a command you can use to show the supplemental results.

I took the liberty to take one of your domains Nick to show this command.

site:www.delq.com *** -sljktf

Copy and paste that exact line and do a search, interesting to see how only supplemental results are shown and more importantly which pages.

:D Nice. Never checked that one before. I need to pay some more attention to the smaller sites too.

I will have to consider putting some new content on this pages. This used to be my turnkey script and the site was hosted as a demo.

But as copies are sold in the market this is giving me more and more supplemental results.

AbsoluteKC I am trying to add some rep to you but it says spread some more and then come again :)

Try putting "~" sign before the query keyword - and you will will get sematically relevant results :)

Wow, didn't know that.
Very useful if you can't find what you are looking for when searching for a term.
